Steak ’n Shake — Restaurant in Florida

This place is a joke. Our party of 3 waited 20 minutes after being seated to get our drink orders taken. We waited over 30 minutes for our food, while parties of 5 and more who were seated 15 minutes after us received their drinks, food, paid and left. Our waitress "forgot she took" our table. I watched another waitress who was playing hostess sit a couple at a dirty table... When they pointed out a spot on one of their chairs, she used her fingernail to pick off the dirt, as if that is an acceptable way to clean. No one around us received silverware and each had to ask after getting up and tracking down an employee. The bathrooms are dirty and smell like urine. Employees were friendly when we saw them, but seemed miserable. We never received refills​ on our drinks... Good thing they reached over us during our meal to check the ketchup though! The food was alright but it wasn't worth the wait. I didn't come to a restaurant to beg for service. I will NOT be returning to this steak n shake ever again. I would suggest driving a little further for better service. I would not suggest eating here, or even using their bathroom for that matter. I will do this review and later go back to see if it is better . My wife and I went to have lunch there on a Friday afternoon and was a little disappointed by the way they have changed the experience. We ordered using the app which was ok . We waited a long time to get our food ( more than 15 minutes ) since the cups were at the drink machine so I went to st least get our drinks but you have to scan a piece of paper to get the drinks machine to work but since we had no piece of paper ( given when you get your order ) Another customer yells st me ‘ You have to scan your paper” inferring that I was trying to cheat the system . A manager came out and I explained we had not gotten our order yet and would like to at least have drink we had paid for . He got the drinks for us and after another 10 minutes they got our order to us . And no paper to scan for refills which took me another 5 minutes to get a worker to get us a refill and he implied I had not paid for my drink . I understand the reasoning behind not allowing non customers from filling drinks but this...

We were the only table there for most of the time.

Food was average.

The place highly...highly! smelled of French fries and burgers... like when you leave a McDonald's... but worse. The kitchen grill and fryer vent fans were off?? (I was in the restaurant biz for 10 years and have worked the line before, and have never almost walked out before due to overwhelming hamburger-place aroma...but this was nuts...and we were there at an obvious slump time.) Why sooooo much smokey smell? Clean the vent filters or turn on the vent-a-hood fans.

Look at the pics of the shake we got. Filled maybe 75%, yet the store's pic of a similar shake (but with M&Ms) was much fuller. Either pull the large marketing (from a by-gone era??) false photo, or fill your product like in the pic.

Food was meh.

There was nobody at the four do-it-yourself touch screens. Plus, see my pic, but they have the balls to actually ask for a tip! Huh? You did nothing, folks. I ordered my own food, got my own condiments and utensils, and had to bus my own table.
