Mimosa of Naples — Restaurant in Florida

Service was ok at best. Our server was nice but once she confirmed our order was delivered. We had to find her and wave her over for anything else we may need. They were out of a lot of ingredients for menu items. So you were limited on what you could order. Food had no flavor and some items you could tell were not fresh but frozen and reheated. I ordered chicken and waffles: the chicken had no flavor or seasonings, the waffle had a crunch to the outside which is great but the inside was thick and very chewy and tasted like bland bread. My husband wanted steak and eggs but they were out of steak. So he ended up ordering country fried steak and you could tell the steak and gravy was premade. The only thing fresh was the eggs, avocado and coffee.

However the the most disturbing part of our breakfast was listening to another server “Amy” practically begging what seem to be a somewhat regular dinner to post a “5” star review on Yelp, Google, and Facebook. She stated multiple times the owner was telling them to get patrons to post reviews. But it got worse, when the gentleman explained he doesn’t do those things because he doesn’t know how. She proceeded to sign him up for Yelp and typed up his review for him. At least she did let him read it before she posted it for him. Then went on to tell him she was going to help him post on Google and Facebook. All of this because they are slow. She did this to the point of ignoring her own guests, who were waiting to order mimosas. Even after another server told her, her table was asking for her. This went on for almost 30 minutes and was still going as we left.

Tell Amy that your party is celebrating a birthday and she will bring her microphone to make you feel special. Miriam is fast and efficient so much that she has our favorite meals and mimosas memorized.  It's clear they take pride in making every customer feel at home.

I haven’t eaten here, but I know it well. My daughters have been drinking mimosas here for years while underage. I’m really sick of it. One daughter is of age now but drank there since she was 16 or so as did all her friends. The other is still underage and was just there again with her underage friends. Kids will flock to a place that doesn’t really check ID’s very well and I’m sure my daughter and her friends tip well so I’ve hesitated in posting this as I appreciate the servers there but it’s out of control now. I have bank records from their accounts $26.74…. Unlimited mimosas… Owners, just stop with this. Awaiting a reply. My kids aren’t drunks, but when you’re serving high schoolers and young college kids you’re just begging for a tragedy and lawsuit.

Response to the owner: They did have fake ID's like most late teens have in Naples. I appreciate your response and I wish you well, but many underage kids have been served there for a while, including the past 3 years. All I'm saying is train your staff better (to be clear I don't want anyone to be let go). My kids while they were underage weren't getting carded because the servers knew them after a while. Kids will flock to easy to drink places probably like you and I did in high school and college, but when my kids come home trashed after hanging with friends there for hours, I decided it was time to speak out, though I don't really expect much to change.
