I was visiting my father in Ft Pierce this past weekend due to the death of his life partner of 15 years. On Sunday morning I said dad let’s go get breakfast somewhere. He decided to go to Mission Kitchen which was just a few miles down the road. He said “they really do a nice job, and the food is always great.” He had just eaten lunch with my brother just two days prior. I assume that he and his late partner frequented here quite often as well. What a quaint little place, and full of customers. We were seated immediately by a pleasant women and we placed our orders. The food came out quickly, hot and well prepared. Upon finishing our breakfast we were approached by the same lady that sat us when we arrived. I asked her about a sign that was on the wall that said January Mission was going to this organization. She explained to us how they raised money and gave in Gods name. I shared with her that I was a first time visit and was impressed as my dad told her that he and his lady friend had eaten there numerous times and it was always very good. Something in the conversation lead to her asking about his partner and he had to tell her that she had passed away and was buried just the day before. This wonderful host was so saddened to hear of my fathers loss, she asked it she could pray for him. The words and message that she said were so special and comforting to to my father and myself as well. I have to say, tears did flow as this beautiful sole prayed over my father. I only wish I lived closer and could enjoy this beautiful setting offer. This is a family run business that everyone can enjoy. Great family dining! God Bless this family and the Mission...
Read moreHubby and I had the pleasure to have breakfast at MISSION KITCHEN CAFE this morning. Not only did we have the joy of seeing friends and family, but what an amazing meal! Hubby ordered the country eggs benedict. He absolutely enjoyed, and ordered another side of hash browns for the second half (which he enjoyed for a late lunch after errands). I had the classic eggs benedict, probably my absolute fav breakfast, and it was amazing! I truly appreciated the taste of lemon in the sauce! Also, I appreciated the extra garnish (paprika?) - took a great meal up an extra notch. We will definitely be returning and can’t wait to enjoy...
Read moreThis is a restaurant that we used to go to frequently. We haven't been there in a while since the new owner took over. We went in to have breakfast as usual, sat down and immediately were greeted with dead flies and dust all over the windowsill. We immediately proceeded to get up and leave and when the server came over to give us our menus we said I'm sorry we're going to have to leave. You have dead flies everywhere and she proceeded to pick up one of the dead flies off the windowsill with her fingers and said oh it's just a dead fly. We will never be back again!! Proceed...
