I recently visited Shaka Kava Bar, and I have to say, it’s hands down one of the best Kava bars I’ve been to! From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was transported to a tropical paradise. The atmosphere is super laid-back and welcoming – perfect for relaxing after a long day. The interior is bright and cozy, with comfy seating and a cool beachy vibe, complete with Hawaiian artwork and palm plants. It feels like a true escape, no matter what part of the city you’re in.

Now, onto the kava itself – it’s fantastic. They offer a wide variety of kava strains, from lighter, more social options to deeper, more relaxing ones. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain the different types to me, which was super helpful since this was my first time trying kava. They even let me sample a few before I chose, which was a nice touch.

I went for the traditional “bula bowl” and was pleasantly surprised by how smooth and earthy it tasted (not too bitter, which is always a win). You could tell the kava was high quality. The effects kicked in quickly, and I felt calm, relaxed, and in the perfect state of mind to enjoy some good conversation with friends.

What’s also awesome about Shaka Kava Bar is the sense of community. There’s always something happening—whether it’s live music, trivia night, or just a chill crowd hanging out. It’s a great place to meet people or just unwind in a relaxed, judgment-free space.

As for prices, I found the drinks to be reasonably priced considering the quality of the kava and the great experience. They also offer some creative kava cocktails if you’re looking for something a little different.

As an avid member of the local kava community; I want to begin this review by saying that Shaka has all of the potential in the world to be one of the greatest kava/botanical tea spot in the tri-county area. The drinks are top notch, prepared with love and knowledge. Shaka has multiple choices for kava strains, and each variant is better than the next! The owner is clearly running this spot from a place of love and tender care for the community, and the main bartender, Jenae, is phenomenal. At its core, this should be the standard for standalone kava bars! I am very excited to see what the future holds for Shaka Kava 772, and will update this review as time goes on. Walked into this place….!!🙏🏽 like no other kava bar I’ve ever been to…☮️ the atmosphere was electric as soon as I walked in the ambience was over the top. I was treated like a friend when I walked actually greeted at the door 🚪. The decor is is inviting. I shot a game of pool and then my friend and I played ping-pong while we were served the most delicious kratom drink I’d ever had. No SH*t. The owner was friendly and polite very welcoming.
