Well well well look who we have here! A NEW Mexican restaurant and let me tell you folks, it will not disappoint! We have had a serious challenge finding a good Mexican place in Port Saint Lucie that has good vibes and we have found it in Kactus.

We moved here almost two years ago from California, I'm a native born and raised in San Francisco where we are more than familiar with the flavors of Mexico. My godmother was Mexican and a daily holy mass attendee and to say her food was blessed is an understatement! No one to this day can make frijoles a la olla like her! Or her chorizo con huevos y tortillas de maíz!!

Someone here reviewed Kactus not long ago and we had to try! Both hubby and I loved it from "hello" we are impressed with the ambience and the attention to detail everywhere. The service is great and not overly abundant meaning they let you enjoy your food and not interject every 5 minutes asking how everything is. Prices are more than fair but bring cash and save a little more! We love the modern vibes that complement traditional well-plated meals.

We had the Jamaica (always ask for agua frescas with no ice and a separate glass of ice), you'll see how easy it is to have 2 for 1, these drinks aren't cheap but worth it at $9.50. We order the lunch plate (before 3pm), of shrimp fajitas with fresh corn tortillas and guacamole. All tasteful and the dishes are plated lovely.

Delicious and yes we are coming back. It's trendy yes but they are very close to tradition as far as flavors (which I grew up on with Mexican food). Other dishes we will be trying are the arroz con pollo, ceviche de pescado and the Caribbean Lechon (not Mexican but hey I'm Cuban🥴).... so many beautiful things on this menu and their bar is the BOMB!!! Go check them out!

I wrote this letter privately to corporate but there is no available address to do so. I will post it here. I just want to write a letter to Corporate about my experience at Kactus. I was there on November 9th with my daughter. It was my second time at your restaurant. The time before being about one month ago. I ordered Mr Pablamo and table side Guacamole , I did request that the shrimp on the Mr Pablamo be replaced with Tilapia. I had done this the first time I was there as well. The table side Guacamole arrived in a bowl fully made. Admittedly it was still delicious, just not as fun. Then our dishes arrived. My Tilapia arrived in its entirety. It was a full fish. It was breaded and complete. Not filets like the first time. The waitress did not mention this when taking the order. Not only was this fish in its entirety completely distasteful and gross to me, but it also arrived with a green flag stuck into its eye. I apologized to the waitress and asked her to remove it from my line of sight and she stood there waving it around in front of both me and my vegan daughter. She stood there and told me that I had ordered it, fried Tilapia, I should have known it would be a whole fish. You could see all of the fins, the scales, and details through the breading. While it may be lovely in some cultures, it is not mine. It took a few minutes to finally get that dish away from me without the fish. By the time she returned the Pablamo wrap was completely soggy. It only retains its crisp outside for a little while. I know the waitress was not happy with us because of this, but she should know to inform people that it is whole fish when they order and the chef should know better than to stick a flag in the eye of the fish. My birthday...

My wife and I have been longtime visitors of this restaurant back when it had the old look, so we weren’t sure what to expect with the new upgrades. To our surprise, the renovation and the updated menu are absolutely amazing! The atmosphere feels fresh, but they’ve kept the heart of what made us love this place — authentic, flavorful Mexican food.

Tony, our waiter, took the time to break everything down for us and made the experience even better. The customer service is still top-notch, and the food? Definitely 5-star quality — honestly, their cooking deserves a 10-star rating!

As a longtime resident and frequent visitor of the old restaurant, I can confidently say this upgrade only makes the experience better. Highly recommend Katcus Mexican Restaurant! Love the new look!! Don’t forget to check out the windows after the sun...

Manager Stephanie was warm and friendly and professional our waiter Iscai sweet young man very attentive. We didn’t have to wait long food was fresh delish great presentation perfect portions. I would highly recommend it’s great having a local restaurant with great food reasonable prices and a great ambiance. If I had to change anything it would be the appetizer plates and this is just opinion only because it reminds me of school cafeteria plates and the restaurant gives hi end decor which I loved. That’s the only thing …..we had the menudo or tripe soup Devine the avocado and pork appetizer delish and fresh. And steak and chicken fajitas delishes. You will love the fantastic mural on the bars side and the windows if u look at them closely you will find art.

Great place. Haven’t been here in about a year but beautiful inside, can definitely see this in Austin, Houston, Dallas. Food we ordered needed a bit more seasoning, they were a bit bland also there was a lack of salt in the salsa, chips were stale and the spicer salsa had way too much salt. As a Texan I would say it’s a place I would recommend just for the vibe, drinks and dessert, as we loved their churros and great staff. The waitstaff seems new so they are still learning, they are friendly and made the effort to get it right. Haven’t tried all the food but glad to see the menu was pared down compared to the old one. Will try again but will try something different next time.
