The salmon roll was a standout item. The fish was incredibly fresh and high-quality. Each piece was a delicious bite of tender, fatty salmon that practically melted in your mouth. The roll was well-constructed with a perfect rice to fish ratio. The crisp nori provided a savory contrast to the richness of the salmon. Overall, an excellent representation of a classic sushi roll.

The spicy tuna roll packed plenty of flavor and had a nice kick of heat. The tuna was chopped into a spicy mixture with a blend of chili sauce and spices. While very flavorful, the tuna retained its fresh taste and texture without being overpowered by the spicy components. The roll was generously filled and the rice held everything together nicely. A great option for those who enjoy a little heat.

The miso soup was a soul-warming accompaniment. The dashi broth had an excellent umami flavor from the miso paste. It struck a perfect balance between savory and slightly salty. The tender cubes of tofu and wakame seaweed added textural contrast. Simple but comforting, the miso complemented the sushi rolls nicely. It's the kind of soup that makes you feel good after eating it.

Overall, Mizu Sushi delivered on freshness and quality. The sushi rolls, especially the salmon and spicy tuna, were highlights. And the miso soup provided the perfect final savory note. A solid neighborhood sushi spot.

As I have posted in other places, Asian cuisine isn't as prominent here in the area as it was back up north, especially because we had two Honda assembly plants nearby, so the Japanese establishments were plentiful and all very good back in Ohio.

We have stumbled on yet another almost hidden gem in Lakewood Ranch. This place is simply amazing. Small, quaint, and comfortable come to mind upon entry.

The food is spectacular! We started with Gyoza and Veggie Tempuras. Miso is always part of their entrees.

I needed a Sushi fix and ordered the Sushi Deluxe (10 pc assorted with tuna roll) and added a couple Unagi (eel). I love Unagi. Would love to have Uni again, but it is so hard to find. Another in our group had Sashimi assorted and the other two had Chicken Teriyaki Bento boxes. All of it was amazingly good.

Couldn't pass up some ice cold Mochi for dessert, so we all ordered a different flavor (Mango, Green Tea, Chocolate, & Strawberry). It was so good and refreshing on this mid-90 hot Florida Saturday. Perfect way to end the...

This has been my go-to sushi place since just before the pandemic started. They have managed to maintain an excellent quality of sushi and hibachi throughout.

Personally, not the biggest fan of their Nori wraps but if you order with rice on the outside its not noticeable, and the superb quality of the fish carries through regardless. Another thing I've noticed is that $9 special rolls back in late 2019 are now over $12 each, and all maki prices went from $4 to $6 (ugh inflation). As a result, I highly recommend their lunch 2/3-roll specials as they're quite a bargain and the quality of the fish is the best around. Also the "House Roll" is a hidden gem!
