Went here due to lots of positive reviews. Unfortunately, do not share same sentiment. Summary of my visit: Unsterilized Instruments, Dusty Workstations, No Hand Rests, Only 1 Brand of Nail Polish Offered, No Hand Massage, Narrow Spaces Between Client Chairs, Unpublished Prices, Not Transparent with Service Costs, Credit Card Fees.
Details: I've been getting professional manicures regularly for few decades. Always had a standing appointment and except for COVID lockdown never missed it. Had high-end manicures, no-chip, gel, regular, polish changes and so on therefore feel confident that I'm qualified to review the service I received at Blossom Nails. So, without further ado, here's a recap of my experience. #1: Cleanliness and Sterilization: missing in action. All tools that were used during my service were dusty. They did not come out of autoclave sealed pouches. Technician doing my nails pulled them out from behind the desk. I have no knowledge whether they were professionally sterilized in an autoclave, or at least in a sterile solution. I have no idea if they were sterilized or even cleaned after the last client. Judging by the amount of dust and grime that accumulated on them it looked like they have not been cleaned in a long time. Gel curing lamps that were used were labeled with names of other spa technicians (not the one performing my service). Again, questioning lamps cleanliness and why technicians are sharing equipment. This is extremely not hygienical or professional. #2: Prepping the Nail for Polish: outside of removing polish/gel I had on which was done well as no residue of old polish was left behind, not much prepping was done. Dust that settled from removing the product was removed with a blush brush. Nails were still dusty as technician began applying thick coats of gel. At this time I asked about cleaning my cuticles. Technician told me that when she removed my polish the instrument used to remove it, pushed my cuticle out of the way. It's a great fable to tell someone who knows nothing about manicures but essentially is just an excuse for being lazy and not properly prepping the nail (as documented in photos). Seeing as I was not satisfied with this explanation, technician said that if I want cuticles cleaned, that would be an extra $10. #3. Filing: In my vast experience of having more manicures than I can count, I've never had nails filed after gel was applied. I'm very neutral about it as the shape and length of the nail that I requested was achieved. #4: Polish Application: remember comments about cuticles? If they are not cleaned, pushed back, removed they do impact the quality of polish application. While technician attempted to apply polish close to the cuticle, their unevenness prevented her from doing so. Therefore polish application was mediocre at best. Also, technician did not apply polish to the nail tips and thus they look unfinished (see photos). #5: Value for the Money: $75 for a gel manicure utilizing dusty and unsterilized tools where nails are not properly prepped for nail polish and nail polish is not applied evenly is not worth it in my book. #6: Things Worthy of Knowing Before Appointment: $75 gel manicure does not include nail design (+ $10 for French, more for others). As already mentioned it does not include cuticle prep (+ $10). Blossom Nails charges extra $2 for using a credit card. There is an ATM on premises but of course, there are withdrawal fees for using it. They do not accept checks. Clients cannot include tips if they do use a credit card. NONE of these prices, fees and policies are provided on the phone at the time of booking an appointment. #7. Conclusion: While Blossom Nails is definitely not for me, hopefully this review will have someone else decide whether they want to visit this establishment and what to expect during...
Read moreAWFUL!!!!! I went in there and was blindsided by the beauty of all of the decor of the salon. I got a fill in and wanted an accent design on one of my fingers on each hand. I was sat down and wasnât even offered to look at colors. whatever. I pick what i wanted and she started doing my nails. Everything went smoothly (unlike the shaping of the nails) until she brought out the âflowerâ sticker options. didnât have exactly have what i wanted, but it was fine and i chose a different sticker. she offered to put another little sticker on another one of my nails so i let her. she decided to continue to put stickers on every. single. finger. ok cute! until she charged me an extra $20 that i wasnât informed about before she put them onâŠeven though i asked for only two nailsâŠit shouldâve been $10 extra not $20. now on to the actual issueâŠi decided to take cash out of their ATM because of the 3% up charge on card payments. The ATM didnât work and so I said I will just pay with card. One of the workers took my card from me and proceeded to repeatedly insert my card into the ATM after it kept saying decline. She did this about 10 times. after SHE determined the card wouldnât work, they finally let me just pay with card. However, once i got to the register, my card was already BLOCKED from the countless declines. Now i am stuck in the nail salon with no form of payment and was told to just call my mom or dad to come pay for itâŠshe asked me how far they lived and giggled when she thought it wasnât that far for them. frustrating, time consuming, inconsiderate and unnecessary, all for the stickers to fall off the next day. will NOT be returningâŠDONT...
Read moreThis Salon has completely gone down hill since it opened. Not only are screaming kids under 10 allowed here, not only did they take away complimentary bottled water and add a petty credit card fee, not only do they allow customers to talk on speaker phone so all of the Salon can hear â they allow their employees to be on the phone while they are WORKING. So the massage and service is constantly interrupted because the focus is on their personal phone call and not the Client. Zoey took a call just as my Service began. (Not the first time.) I thought it was going to be quick (which that in itself is wrong but things happen) â it wasnât and her constantly playing with the ear piece to hear the conversation then taking the ear piece out to then balance the phone with her shoulder - going from 2 handed massage to 1 hand completely took away from the $50 pedicure treatment. I politely said - âZoey please.â She took another minute- ended the call then proceeded to tell me it was an important call. I said it doesnât matter. Do it on your own time. Iâm paying for a Spa Pedicure not to listen to your personal issues that should be done on your own time. Not the Clientâs time. I donât talk on my phone at work. Itâs highly unprofessional and rude. Not to mention Iâd be fired. Work is work. If I wanted to listen to a conversation and have a massage be continuously interrupted - Iâd go to Walmart and pay half price. Personal issues are done on personal time - not the paying Clientâs time. Get a clue Blossom owners. ...
