We had the BEST experience at Mojito's Calle Ocho! It was my husband's 40th birthday and we needed a venue (and private or semiprivate space) that would be able to accommodate our guests. Mojito's was it! The Mojito's staff was a delight to work with from my very first email. They were very respectful and responsive. We moved out of state a few years ago, so it is always nerve wrecking coordinating a party venue unseen. However, the management and staff was truly top notch! They were very responsive over email. The day of the event Roberto (the manager) was extremely helpful and flexible. He brought out a ladder to hang our banner, listened to any questions or concerns I had (since I was running around like a chicken with it's head cut off) and was helpful and kind while doing it. Our server was BEYOND WORDS AMAZING! Dania R. was VERY SWEET and KIND! She was efficient, attentive and kept me in the loop in regards to my guests needs. Honestly she made my hosting a breeze! Now a days it seems like customer service is a thing of the past, but I can honestly say that the Mojito's management and staff has not lost the essence of what makes a great business work! They hosted our 25 guest event like a breeze, made sure everyone had what they needed and even though we were a big Latino family who went over an hour after closing... they were kind, patient and made sure we enjoyed our time there. The food was GREAT! My one suggestion would be that they add black beans as a side to the event menu. Other than that the menu was delicious, from start to finish. The Mango and Coconut Mojito is a definite try! (You'll thank me later...)Everyone enjoyed their time loved the food and venue. Roberto came out to thank me for hosting our event at Mojito's when it was time for us to leave. He was truly a pleasure to work with. He treated us like family. So much so that our friends thought we knew each other from before! That's a great sign! Definitely consider having your next event here. Ask for Roberto the manager and Dania as your main server! You won't be sorry! It was our first time here but definitely will not be out last. Needless to say we will be recommending Mojito's Calle Ocho to all our friends and family in Miami as well as Ga. Thanks again Mojito's management and staff for helping me make my husband's milestone birthday a success!

This was insane. I’ve had good Cuban food. But never THIS good. Every item blew me away and I’d come here again in an instant. We started off with mojitos and mango juice. Mojitos are considered the best in the city! I personally loved the mango juice as it was super thick and tasty. We then had their fried pork chunks with fried plantains happy hour appetizer. This pork was super crispy on the outside, and super tender and fatty on the inside. It was perfectly seasoned just enough for the meat to still remain the star with its fantastic texture. The fried plantain chips were served with a tangy lemon mojo (sauce) to dip them in. We then got some shrimp filled puffs. The shrimp were soft and savory and the puff was super light and airy. The main dish I had was the vaca frita. This shredded beef is served in a beautiful baked plantain atop mashed plantains. I chose sides of mixed black beans and rice as well as caramelized plantains. The meat was incredible. So much flavor infused into tender, shredded meat. The rice and beans were so good themselves - I could eat a bowlful of that alone! And as always, plantains are so good when slightly sweet and caramelized. The final item we had was their dessert - torreja. This is essentially French toast, bread pudding, crème brûlée creation. It’s the best dessert item I’ve ever had in my life. So soft and custardy while crisp on the outside. Served with an incredibly creamy vanilla ice cream. Absolutely stunning and blew me away! Overall Mojitos is an absolutely phenomenal restaurant with excellent dishes and one of the best desserts I’ve ever had!

Was there on a Sunday early afternoon with my husband. We were sat at a table in the empty part of the restaurant which my husband wasn't so pleased about but when I saw that our server was going to be "Maria". I told him we should stay because a lot of the Google reviews raved about her. So we stayed. It was "happy hour". We got the Mojitos of course. I asked for mine without sugar and when I took my first sip not using the straw, I could tell it was made with sugar. I asked the unfriendly waitress to take it back. She said it didn't have sugar. I said it was very sweet. She said that is because they make it with Sprite so she asked if I wanted it with club soda instead. I said yes. By the way, I knew if was actually sugar and not the sprite because I felt the sugar granules on my lips. Anyway, she came back with the correct NO SUGAR Mojito. It was good! We ordered the $5 appetizers: Tostones with shrimp and fish croquettes. I was pleasantly surprised that they were not overly greasy or salty as I had read in some reviews. They weren't really flavorful but the croquettes were served with a dipping sauce. The tostones were not and I could tell the waitress wasn't eager to please, so I didn't bother asking for a sauce for that. An appetizer plate came dirty and I also didn't bother to ask for a clean one. After that, our meal came. Husband was pleased with his grilled chicken, rice and beans. I ordered the fried fish bites appetizer as a meal because I really didn't want sides. I was again pleasantly surprised that they weren't overly greasy or overly breaded. They also had no flavor at all. So, I ordered some tartar sauce which was I guess their own special recipe unlike the tartar sauce from other restaurants. It was fine. We asked for the check, it seemed higher than what I had calculated in my head. Husband paid and didn't want me to review the bill. Next day, I reviewed the receipt and the reason it was so much higher than I had calculated is because they add in a "service charge" and then there was a line for "additional gratuity". Husband didn't notice, so he ended up paying an extra $9, above the 20% he paid in gratuity and they charged a fee for using a credit card. Definitely NOT worth the less then exceptional or friendly service. We are locals and really weren't expecting this kind of underhanded, sneaky "tourist trap" antics. Just BEWARE! I'm not going back and don't recommend. There are way better places to go spend your hard-earned money! If that's not a concern to you, the food and...

Very bad treatment of guests, the staff was very unprofessional in everything from the food, to the "service". They kept making me and my family feel extremely un welcomed, and uncomfortable. And they overcharged us by lying about when happy hour was, many times, the waiter was extremely rude, constantly making fun of us throughout the whole "service" which we all found very distasteful, and to they also tried to take advantage of us by constantly bringing us alcohol that we never asked for, so in their hopes we could keep the bill running higher and higher, also their food quality was not in any way comparable to the price on the menu, the food was very bad, stale, and almost sickening, and to top it off the waiter that attended us a middle aged "woman" for the way she acted shouldn't be called that, with black hair, with mulata skin, was tall, and her name was Maria, and when we got there at 3 pm she told us it wasn't happy hour yet instead she told us it was at 4 pm and so we waited and at 4:44 pm when we were almost ready to go, we instead were offered drinks knowing it was happy hour so then we drank, but when we were leaving we then realized were being charged at full price for everything and knowing that some of us were drunk, but me and another person wasn't, so they took advantage of the ones who were gonna pay which were a bit drunk and they not only charged us for everything at full price but also doubled our bill, and Maria who attended us also lied straight to our faces when it was 5 pm we asked her about happy hour and told us that it wasn't happy hour yet, so we ended up paying a whopping $360 Bill and a $20 Tip that was not in any shape or form connected to the awful service we received, from everything that happened, to also getting our guest being ridiculed and frankly getting bad mouthed by Maria by calling him "too skinny", "too frail", and by repeatedly making fun of him constantly until we thankfully left, in conclusion, i wouldn't believe any of these phony positive reviews that iv'e seen because they had absolutely nothing to do with the reality of that place. One Star is too generous for this place for getting robbed and mistreated from the waiter, overall a bad establishment that none...
