I love Indian food. It's one of my favorite cuisines. I enjoy cooking it, and I also enjoy trying out Indian restaurants. However, I did not have a satisfactory experience with my food from Punjab Indian Cafe Restaurant. I ordered everything using Uber Eats (who handled my situation very well, by the way). The first problem I had with my order without even eating anything was that there was only one small rice container in the entire bag. I ordered three separate dishes. There should've been three separate rice containers for each dish. Each dish was for a separate individual. The rice that came with the order was definitely not enough (even if separated into three equal parts) to go with each person's dish. The second problem I had was with the food itself. I'm not picky when it comes to food, and I usually don't have any problems. However, the lentil soup that I ordered was the blandest lentil soup I've ever tasted. So much so that I even had to get onion powder, garlic powder, and salt from my pantry and add it to make the taste significantly better. The samosas were bland as well. Also, for every dish, there were pieces of spices that I would be chewing on while eating. It wasn’t pleasant. The last problem that I had was with the portion of one of the dishes that I ordered. It looked like it was more than half eaten already. There was so little served. The other two meals were filled almost to the rim. The taste was good for the three main dishes, but I definitely have had better Indian food. There are better Indian restaurants in Miami with actual authentic Indian food. I hate writing negative reviews, but I had to be honest because compared to another Indian restaurant in Miami that I've eaten from before, this one is nowhere near as good. Most of my reviews of restaurants are positive. This was just not a good experience for me. You may have a better one, but I wanted to let others know about mine.
The items in my order included: Vegetable Samosas, Dal Soup, Naan, Raita, Channa Masala, Paneer Makhani, and Chilli Paneer.
To respond to the owner’s response, spicy doesn’t mean flavorful. Spicy means hot as in a burning sensation in my mouth. I ordered mild for one of the dishes, but that shouldn’t affect the flavor at all. The Dal Soup didn’t even have a heat option. It’s about the spices that give the food flavor that counts. Not whether or not it contains heat. As for the rice, I’m not sure what you mean. It should be complimentary for each separate meal I ordered. One meal should serve one (maybe two) individuals. The one container of rice barely feeds one. Having my food delivered shouldn’t affect this either.
Also, I tried the Chilli Paneer today and the paneer was not fresh and had an odd...
Read moreent to this place while holidaying in Miami. "Awful food" summarizes my experience over there.
Went for a lunch buffet. I am vegetarian and my review is for the vegetarian food. It has one of the laughable and pathetic lunch buffets I had in my life. Just by looking at the buffet entree, you can make sense of how tasteless and stale it is. It felt like some amateur cook is at the helm of things. $11 for a buffet. It's worth $4. I am saying it because I have had really nice $11-$12 buffets in CA, which is one of the place with high cost of living.
I had to order a separate "mix veg korma" other than the buffet to satiate my lunch appetite. It was just okay and gave me an Indian kadhi kind of taste, which is tangy in taste.
Further I asked waiter for green chillies and lemon ( which is generally available as part of buffet elsewhere). He said it would be charged extra. Oh man.... are you for real ?
Naan provided with buffet were half cooked. It required another round of cooling to make it a cooked one.
Bad experience. Vegeterian Lunch buffet not...
Read moreI feel bad writing a bad review but it really wasn’t good, if you KNOW INDIAN FOOD, this does NOT taste good. The owner was super nice so I didn’t say anything but omg place isn’t too good looking, my glass of water came with someone else’s lipstick stain, I ordered chicken tikka masala and my husband ordered butter chicken, surprisingly the butter chicken was more red in color than the chicken tikka? Which if you know the difference between the two dishes… you’ll know why I’m saying this. His sauce was at least more sauce like mine on the either hand WATERY, how can chicken tikka masala be watery? Also it had huge chunks on onions inside? I’ve never had a chicken tikka masala like that, but the worst part is, you can tell they didn’t marinate the chicken fresh abs UNFROZEN. The chicken came in perfectly cut cubes like when you cut frozen chicken breasts! Also because they use frozen chicken is was tasteless, hard and rubbery!! It’s a no from me, sorry but if they’re Indian they should serve proper...
