My fiancé’s family and I always go to Mr. Tequila for Taco Tuesday. We LOVE it.
We mainly go for the hard tacos. My fiancé and I always order the ground beef hard tacos with no lettuce. Their ground beef is AMAZINGLY good and it’s that kind of flavor that you just don’t get tired of and will only stop eating because you’re full and just can’t take it anymore.
Other plates are tasteful and just different from another Mexican restaurant.
If i’m not ordering tacos, i’ll go for enchiladas. They have one of the best pork enchiladas i’ve tried so far. It’s like eating one, two, and needing a 4th and a 5th. I’m obsessed. - Rice is ok, beans are creamy and delicious.
My fiancé goes more for the ground beef burrito, which should be called burrote (just kidding). We always share food so we try everything and I’m never sure what I like the most.
Margaritas are something else in Mr. Tequila. It doesn’t matter if it’s the special Margarita of the day or the most ‘piripipi’ (fancy) one, they all taste so good; from regular Margarita on the rocks to frozen strawberry mango Margarita, they are all so delicious that it’ll make Uber your savior of the night.
Managers, owner, every single server.. everyone is kind, caring and fun to be around. We always joke around with the manager on Taco Tuesday and tell our life story to the owner. She’s so sweet that she’ll listen to every single word and joke around too. Beautiful people.
I can’t wait for my family to be able to visit so I can take everybody to Taco Tuesday.
And personally, I can’t wait for the next Taco Tuesday to go for myself. Like it isn’t Wednesday yet when I just...
Read moreFood is bland and not actually Mexican food as I know it. Doesn't taste like Mexican food at all. Server was clueless and not too attentive. I had to ask her to remove all the sloppy, messy plates from the table and wipe it down. I only got one thin, cheap napkin and had to ask for another one of those too. What a joke. I ordered the seafood tower which was in the menu and was told they don't have it. Ordered fajitas that were not very good at all. They came with three small tortillas that were stale and old. I asked for more and was charged. Talk about being nickle and dimed. Chicken empanadas were sloppy and bland and not a real Mexican empanada. They were also soggy and cut in half and then place ioright in a bunch of nasty, gooey glop. The Texas Margarita and the Mariachi band was the only good thing about this place. I won't go back ever again. The bottom line is that they dont have the menu items and the food is very bland and nasty and I feel like anybody could make it better at home. Prices were sky high for this junk food and crummy service. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me....
Read moreAs someone who grew up eating Mexican food, I walked in the front door and thought I was back home in Arizona... boy was I wrong.
I'm not going to talk about how I was let down by the food I ordered. There are many types of Mexican food, I don't personally really enjoy food from outside the Sonoran or Baja areas.
What I will say is that the chips were stale enough to make my teeth ache with pain. (I'm in my 20's, I'm not complaining because my old teeth.)
The tortillas look/feel/smell like they're either not made daily or are ordered in. Somehow they were the only highlight of my meal.
My date got a taco and couldn't finish it. The taco shells are also ordered in and are stale.
My date also got a mole enchilada, which to her tasted like spiced ketchup. I am somewhat inclined to agree.
The whole reason I went to try this place was because of the Google reviews. All I can really assume is that not many people here have had Mexican food from outside of Florida. El Toro Bravo is probably a closer representation of authentic Mexican food.
Mr Tequila just tastes like someone gave...
