We visited this morning for breakfast. As we entered we were semi greeted by the server who was strictly business. She was not friendly by any stretch of the imagination. Being friendly is key in the restaurant business. After we were seated we felt like we were not welcome. My husband and I ordered the Supreme Breakfast. It’s the standard southern breakfast, as we are both southerners. Eggs, grits, bacon and toast. When the plates arrived I smelled garlic. If you are use to southern grits, you will be disappointed, as they put garlic in their grits. I asked the server if they put garlic in their grits. She immediately responded NO. I told her if there’s not suppose to be garlic in the grits someone needs to taste what they are serving in the kitchen because there’s obviously garlic in the grits and quite a bit of it. She argued that there wasn’t. She left and brought out my to go drink and told me that there IS garlic in the grits. She checked with the kitchen. She said she’s never eaten grits in her life, but she asked and they do put garlic in them. She took my plate which had all of my eggs left and half of my bowl of grits and never asked if everything was ok or if I wanted anything else. I didn’t, but it would have been nice for her to be concerned. She obviously wasn’t. We won’t be going back because we didn’t feel welcome at all. She has a strong accent, so I know she’s not originally from the US and she obviously knows the mechanics of her job. I’m glad people are working, but just a smile or friendly gesture would go a long long way. PS: Never put garlic in...
Read moreEaster Sunday 2018. We went in for brunch after church, family of four. I ordered Blt wrap, fried green tomatoes on side. Regular tomato on sandwich. My wrap came out with green tomatoes on the wrap, waitress apologized and said “her fault they would remake”. Next, my wrap came out no tomatoes of any kind. So I asked for the waitress to just take it away. While my family ate their food which was fine I just waited. After about 10 minutes another wrap came out, brought by another server. I said I already said I wasn’t going to eat that. Our server came back after everyone was done eating, gave the check. My husband gave her his card without reviewing the check. Once the server brought back the check to sign he noticed that my food was still on the bill, the food I did not eat. I took the check up to the front for the manager or the owner, a man with an accent. I explained the situation. The man said yes because the made the food three times I should pay for it. I said the first time and the second time was the waitress’ fault the food was made incorrectly. I asked her to takeit away and that I wasn’t going to eat. It wasn’t my fault they made it again, much less, the waitress was incompetent to take an order correctly. I have been a server for 16 years and have never/would never treat a customer like that or try to make them pay for food they didn’t eat. Completely wrong, not the way you treat a person. We definitely will not...
Read moreMy family and I were looking forward to a fun meal out together. We went to the Cattlemen location by the Burlington strip. We had four adults and we had two little four year olds. From the moment we walked in there was a vibe. We always order a side for the girls but we do bring their sandwich with us. We got our teas and the girls were eating their peanut butter sandwich quietly when the waitress (She had an accent and I believe she was also the owner) came up to my face and rudely told me that it wasn't right that the girls were eating a sandwich from home. I told her the four of us adults were ordering meals and the kids usually get a side. She continued to make us uncomfortable and wouldn’t rake our order. She had the whole restaurant looking at us and wouldn’t stop until we left. I have never been treated like that and never been told the girls were doing anything wrong. It was very unprofessional and I would never go back. She should be ashamed for treating customers so rudely and we heard her talking about us to the next table as we were walking out! I have never been treated like that at...
