Third update, August 2025:
My claim to the BBB didn’t go anywhere, and now my motherboard is shot, so I cannot use my laptop unless it is plugged in.
I will bring my laptop to Geeksquad or some other reputable repair company, and intend on contacting Techy corporate (I previously had challenges finding any contact for a corporate line of Techy vs the local franchisee), for rectification.
I RECOMMEND USING ANY OTHER BUSINESS FOR TECH REPAIR NEEDS.

Second update, April 2025: The refund never went through and I’ve unsuccessfully been able to make contact with anyone who can help rectify this challenge. I’ll be contacting the corporate office in hopes of rectifying this never-ending situation which has proved frustrating and time-consuming.

Update: February 2025:
Following my initial experience, I was contacted by Gabriel from Techy, who was incredibly professional and proactive in resolving the issue. He informed me that the owner is no longer involved in operations and that Corporate has stepped in. As a result, he is issuing a full refund. While my initial experience was disappointing, I appreciate Gabriel’s professionalism and the steps taken to rectify the situation.

I have been attempting to receive service for my laptop from this business (which offers a lifetime warranty on all parts and services) for over a month now. My experience has been incredibly frustrating, unprofessional, and unethical.
I initially had my touchscreen and battery replaced. Techy, informed me the job was complete but upon receiving my laptop, the battery issue remained unresolved, and moreover, two new issues had arisen: the camera no longer works, and the laptop won’t auto-sleep when closed.
I returned to the store to leave my computer once again for the original issue to be rectified and to fix the new damages. Gabriel assured me that the laptop would be shipped to me since I was traveling for work and even though I had previously been told it would be fixed before I left, it wasn’t ready.
Now, I have traveled and returned, a week has passed, and not only did I never receive my computer, the company has been skirting my repeated attempts to contact them for some sort of update.
I’ve called numerous times and left multiple voicemails, as has a friend of mine, suspecting the store was screening calls from my number specifically. None of our calls have been answered or returned. I travel again in two days and urgently need my laptop for work.
This lack of follow-up is unacceptable. Even though I paid for the work done, which did not resolve my issues, the store is now seemingly holding my property from me and is completely unresponsive. Hence I am writing on the platform, hoping to get some sort of response.
At this point, I want my laptop shipped to me immediately and a full refund for the time and energy wasted on this ordeal. I request that the manager or owner contact me as soon as possible to rectify this situation. My next step is to contact the Better Business Bureau and an investigative journalist to shed light on the way this business operates, to spare others my same...
Read moreCustomer beware! I took in my IPad for a screen repair. I paid for a new screen, during install of the new screen, the technician broke my original home button and had to order a new one. I was called when my iPad was ready (some days later), only to be told when I got there, "I didn't like the way the new button was working so I ordered another one and it should be here any minute". I waited over an hour and the button never showed up. I left in frustration because I should have been called ahead of time about the button issue. I asked the technician to call me when the new one was installed and in working order. When I didn't get a phone call, I called in to have the technician tell me that the charge port was faulty. Once that repair was done I was then told the battery connection inside was faulty. I went to the store to be shown a picture of my iPad from the technicians phone. I said, my iPad isn't her, is it? His response was no, I sent it out for micro soldering. See, I already knew this because the location was turned off by someone other than myself. After the battery connector was worked on, I was told my iPad was not in a condition to be worked on any further and that the technician could sell me a refurbished one for a little more money. I agreed and the replacement was ordered. When I went to pickup the replacement, I walk in to find the technician wiping the iPad with his shirt. I asked what he was doing and he said there was smudges from a screen protector on it. I looked at it and immediately knew it was buff marks from a bumper ipad case and those would not come out, so the technician put the screen I paid for on the refurbished iPad. I picked it up ti inspect it and saw the condition of the metal which looked like it had been dragged behind a garbage truck down the road. He said he ordered a grade B replacement. He didn't charge the extra trade in amount at this point. I get home with my "new" iPad to find that the left side of the new screen is not responsive, the screen won't seat and the iPad is literally bent. I took in an excellent condition ipad for a screen change and ended up with a piece of trash. I called corporate and explained my situation and they were to have the manager call me back, that never happened. I called my local store to demand an iPad that is equivalent to my original, it's been almost 3 weeks since that technician told me he was ordering a replacement. I would never recommend this company or any of its franchises. I would give negative 10 stars if it...
Read moreI do not give 5 stars lightly, so wow! This store nailed customer service and nailed skill in solving my tech problems. Note, this is a new owner of 3 months and Sarasota is lucky to have service. I am here visiting my mother and the power cord for my work laptop for bent in transit. I called a few office and electronic stores and they steered me there get a universal adapter that I figured out before going to the store, luckily, wouldn’t work with type-c. I cashed Techy, told them it was a work computer so I didn’t want to plug anything into it that wasn’t truly compatible and I was only here for 2 days. Mike asked me detailed questions, found a type c adapter online that listed t laptop model as compatible and said he had B2B expedited shipping and it should arrive by store opening at 11am. The next morning Mike called and said the package hadn’t arrived and offered to call all the local stores to see if there was a type c in stock. About 45 minutes later Mike called and said there was not a local store option but the adapter had arrived. So far Mike did probably 1-2 hours of shopping on my behalf and came up with an adapter brand he trusted (my first was all the knockoff/used ones I was finding.) I went to the store to pick up the adapter, it was clearly not used and worked great ( and Techy cleaned my ports accessories I bought that were corroded.) then I mentioned my phone only worked on speaker, not near my ear. Mike’s tech expert (genius guy but forget his name), looked at it for a Milos cone and said your soften protector is upside down. Embarrassing but illustrates my point. Wish they were in my hometown but feels so good to receive service above and beyond. Felt so taken care of. And the cost of the adapter with overnight shipping was less than the incorrect ones I was quoted and cheaper than the Dell brand which read not available...
