This is a very overdue review. For years we have been coming to Noisette French Cafe, and for some reason it occurred to me to write this.
The owner came to this country with his parents, who opened the Bakery of France off Spanish River Blvd. This was originally supposed to be the second location for him to run, but the helpful waitresses explained he wanted to explore classic daytime French cuisine instead. He imports most of his ingredients directly from France, and it's hard to find this quality for a reasonable price.
Usually we go for Saturday brunches, because my wife will wake up hungry (or hangry if I make her wait) and craving the duck pate sandwich. She searches high and low for a great pate and accompanying cornichon pickles. This is some of the best. It's authentic, not overly salty or peppery, with a smooth consistency. And they don't skimp on the portion. The cornichons we have attempted multiple times to try entice him to sell them to no avail.
I usually go for the chicken Caesar salad because it's one of the better ones around. Of course when I go to do a review, after years of eating there and getting more green and leafy lettuce, they pick the one day to provide not the best lettuce as seen in the picture. Don't let that deter you, it was a one-off. I'm not a fan of anchovie paste so his homemade sauce is delicious, the kids get it everytime too. The croutons are crunchy and the chicken is moist and slightly blackened and peppery around the edges and full of flavor.
Speaking of flavor, the French Onion Soup is out of this world. Absolutely bursting with flavor, but balanced and appropriately cheesy. It's wonderful and probably the best one we've had down here.
The quiches are also superb. Always a great slightly crispy texture to the outside, but the inside is delicate and perfect. The quiche of the day was Artichoke and Swiss, and the waitress was enamored with how long she saw them marinating the artichokes and was gushing about how good it was. She was right on the money and I'm happy I listened to her since I don't love artichokes.
I should mention you can also create your own savory or sweet crepes, and all of them are exactly what you want a crepe to be. The wines including the imported rose is the only rose my wife drinks since she avoids sweet wines and it's notably great as well.
As of now, Noisette is only open for breakfast and lunch. Apparently starting this November, they will reopen around 5 pm for an additional dinner menu, with some twists on other classics like Beef Wellington. I'll try to do another...
Read moreThis place has ben my favorite for quite some time, now in better hands run by a young entrepreneurs french couple, the food is always fresh, the service is extremely friendly but most important "real". These people really care for you to enjoy their fresh daily made pastry.
NOTE: I don't understand why users like "Diana Handwerker " have to leave such of bad review making herself look cheap and obnoxious. I was there at the same time and they got just busy like many other restaurants and of course it could sometimes take few more minutes.
My coffee was delicious and creamy as always, my Omelet was outstanding and hot, fresh as the rest...
Now: going back to what this element "Diana Handwerker" says about the "Quiche sitting all day"? I don't understand , this place opens at 8-9am and Quiche is something you have to cook and preserve fresh with all the rest of the pastry (Which by the way is always fresh) that they do always run out of pastry so It does not make sense that these sit all day as this "Diana Handwerker" says. The Quiche here is one of the best ones in the area,! So she is probably used to Walmart frozen ones. (You can tell that she is an unhappy human being and nothing good comes from such of people.)
I truly recommend this place and their...
Read moreI love the look and ambiance of this cute French cafe. Started going here when it first opened but it became very busy and was turned away for service twice so I stopped. Tried it again today and it’s a real shame that they are so overpriced for what they give. I just paid $2.50 for a sprinkling of cheese on my eggs. Coffee cream continues to be Coffee Mate pods instead of REAL half and half. Eggs are either over or undercooked. Service lacking as only 2 sweet girls handling service and check out. Never got a 2nd cup of coffee or even our bill! Sorry they can’t get it together and give us what we pay for as it’s a cute place. $48 w/tip for skimpy breakfast for two.
Response to Owner: I'm sorry, but $18 per person for the eggs being either overcooked or undercooked, $2.50 for a sprinkling of cheese on eggs, "quality" like Coffee Mate which is loaded with chemicals and your only option for creamer, and service so lacking that you can not get another cup of coffee or even your bill is not a competitive price for the area. And yes, the female who originally opened up the place did turn me away for weekend breakfast service twice which is why I stopped going there. Perhaps you are a new...
