10.01.2022 Saturday Arrived 9pm. Seated immediately. It was busy and bustling (like the place to be!) but was winding down. Very lively and felt very European ambiance.
Ordered the Lemoncello Martini for 2. They were exceptional. Very delicious. They came promptly. It was busy but came sooner than expected. Had 3 more throughout the night.
Started with 1. Grilled artichokes, 2. Grilled octopus, and 3. Prosciutto wrapped Melon. Each was visually beautiful and the taste was amazing. When it came out I knew it would be delicious. Again we were in no rush and it came out promptly fresh and visually appetizing. I could not name a favorite of the 3. Each I wanted more. But the octopus was best I have ever had. And the Prosciutto was really delicious.
Next we had a meat lovers pizza and it was made with superior meats and delicious sauce. The crust was everything, right amount of crispy and chew. Cheese was just right, not too much and not too little.
And we had the Special Pasta of the day. With mushrooms and sausage in a cream sauce. I was expecting a pappardelle pasta, long and flat, however it was not. But we moved on and it was great.
There was a waiter Sergio who was A+ and really did a great job. A real pro who had an ease and knowledge of the menu. However our waiter was not as great; just average and not as smooth as Sergio. Fortunately Sergio did walk by and we were able to engage with him. Definitely will ask for him again. The younger waiter was ok... just needs to mirror Sergio. But the experience was made amazing by Sergio.
I did get to speak to the bartender and compliment her Lemoncello Martini. She was appreciative.
Also to note. Bathroom was clean and had ample towels. This is a huge sign of good ownership and management. So many restaurants do not have a clean...
Read moreOur experience at Trattoria Nonna was incredibly disappointing, to say the least.
We were simply filled with excitement, nothing more. Our real estate agent, who was showing us properties in the area, suggested we stop for drinks at one of her favorite places in the neighborhood. Excited to celebrate finding a property we liked, we entered Trattoria Nonna with high hopes. We sat at the bar.
Unfortunately, our hopes were quickly dashed when we encountered the bartender, a blonde woman who seemed to exude rudeness from the moment we approached the bar. Instead of a warm welcome, she greeted us with a sour attitude. As we were happily discussing our property search, she abruptly interrupted with a snide condescending remark, "uh where did you guys go for happy hour?" Her demeanor was not only judgmental it was unwelcoming and downright offensive and disrespectful.
As if her initial behavior wasn't off-putting enough, her attitude continued throughout our brief time at the bar. When my wife ordered a martini, the bartender responded with a remarkably judgmental tone, “You sure about that?” implying it wasn't a good choice due to alcohol content. Her comments were not only unprofessional but also insulting.
Shocked and disheartened by the bartender's demeanor, we made the decision to leave the establishment before even placing our order. It was clear that Trattoria Nonna was not the welcoming and enjoyable dining or drinking experience we had hoped for in the Boca Raton area.
The behavior displayed by the bartender at Trattoria Nonna was utterly unacceptable, unprofessional, and appalling. We will not be returning to this restaurant and will certainly not recommend it to friends or acquaintances. It's truly unfortunate that such behavior tarnished what could have been a pleasant and...
Read moreThis is what you don’t do when you are short staffed. We arrived on time for our reservation and were told we would have to wait 15 minutes. OK fine, we can get a drink at the bar and wait. Problem #1 - there was only 1 bartender, and the bar and restaurant were packed. Clearly she was overwhelmed. Patience, no problem. After waiting 1/2 and hour we were told another 20 minutes! What! We are finally seated, but no server in sight. After asking for water we had to wait again, and were told it was because they didn’t have any glasses. We place our drink orders and again we wait, the server seemed to have disappeared. Apparently he was arguing with the bartender who lost our drink order. The bartender told the server to “shut up”. To make a long painful story short, we left 1-1/2 hours after our reservation without receiving our drinks or even a basket of bread. To make matters worse the owner’s daughter told us we were given preferential seating and that we were rude for leaving. Apparently preferential seating is being seated 45 minutes after your reservation time. I understand being understaffed and overwhelmed, but you need to communicate with the diners. Neither the owner or her daughter cared to step in and help the bartender or servers. All that needed to be done was to give diners a basket of bread and a smile, not attitude. I’ve been here before and the food was great. I’m not sure when I...
