Omgeez OMGEEZ O M G E E Z!!!! So my hubby and I found this place by chance today. He saw another establishment which IMO was wretched(kitchen bowl), and I saw pizzeria and so while my hubby was ordering his food from the other place, I sauntered on down here! I was immediately greeted by a very nice young lady who explained to me that this was under new ownership(it was news to me as I never heard of previous place) I think it was called Palumbos or malumbos??? Anyhoo I looked over menu and while doing this I saw the Chef (James) aka owner making a chicken parm sandwich and it looked so yummy and I dontbeven eat chicken parm sammys so this speaks volumes!!!! So I decided to order a Philly cheesesteak sub and as I'm doing this my hubby comes in and he also is very impressed anyhoo so we get to talking oh i sit and eat my food which was phenomenal and I will get to this in a moment. James the new owner comes over and talks to us and asks how is it...and I say oh my goodness this is the best I've had since I've been here. Well guess what?!?! The bread he ships in from Brooklyn and I need to explain something here to anyone who has lived or been to NY NJ or CT you CANNOT get bread like they have ANYWHERE in the rest of America you just can't(they say it's because of the water)!! Point is the bread/Italian bread omgeez is like wow so anyhoo James for his sammys has it shipped or flown in. His pizza dough is also proofed and made amazingly he explained it and unfortunately I forgot how he explained it. Listen his dad and his son was there 3 generations and you can tell James is a workhorse and operates w/a spirit of excellence! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU EAT HERE. Reeve is an amazing server very friendly and just an all...

We used to get pizza and rolls from Palumbo's all the time - as in our regular Friday night pizza trip - but something happened. We'd either go inside or get take out because we really liked the garlic rolls. They were chewy with a lot of real garlic on them. Then, they began to start adding less and less garlic, sometimes to the point of some rolls having no garlic at all. We'd get takeout, but noticed that the pizza might be warm but the rolls would be cold. Or burnt. Or both. The last time we went inside, I watched them take a batch of rolls out of the oven and leave them on top of the oven while waiting for the pizza to come out for another customer. I don't know if leaving them on top of the oven is a mistake, but I think that has the potential to burn the bottoms of the rolls. As I watched that happen, it occurred to me that this might be the reason our rolls end up burnt when we get take out. When we first started going here, it was soooo good. But I guess when word gets out that some places are really good, they end up having a hard time keeping up with consistent quality. I think that might be the issue here. We keep giving them "one last chance" in hopes that things will improve, but I don't think we'll...

Best ITALIAN in Naples Florida!!! First of all, I'm from the east coast of Florida, where the food and people are real, Italian places that have flavor are a dime a dozen over there!!! But for a town that's named after a small town in Italy, the Italian food is garbage, and WAY over priced in this town!!! That being said, and the fact I've lived here for 10yrs, this place gave me hope in Italian food again!!! Thank you Palumbo's!!! The chicken parm sub was absolutely amazing!!! Full of flavor!!! Had the veggie pizza, again, delicious and full of flavor!!! Cheese pizza was simple, but again delicious and full of flavor!!!

*****UPDATE*09/18/2016

Slacking on the toppings. Had the Veggie Pizza, peppers and mushrooms were not fresh, almost as if they were out of a can. Also ordered a Large Mushroom Bacon and Pepperoni, Mushrooms and Bacon again were not fresh, it was as if they were out of a can as well. Also had a chicken parm sub, that was good, canoli, and tiramasu were also good. I was disappointed with the toppings of my pizza, it was awesome the first three times I've been there, but now they are slacking on...

Nunzio’s Taste of Italy is a wonderful new addition to the Naples restaurant community - especially for those who miss some of the standard fare up north. The pizza here checks off a lot of boxes for NY style enthusiasts - both the regular and Sicilian pies, with the Margherita being a real standout. The bread is shipped in from Brooklyn & the garlic knots are a must try. What really stands out is the family feel & freshness of ingredients - much of which is made in-house. I'll be back. Update: After returning several times, it is good to see this place getting the business it deserves - and even with the extra traffic, the service remains excellent. This is a great family-run restaurant that cares about its customers and the quality of their product. The food is excellent - be sure to try the knots! An interesting thing to note that a lot of NY style pizza places don't always get right is the Margherita pie. The Margherita pizza is really worth trying here - the sauce they use is different and so is the cheese placement, topped with fresh basil. The quality of everything here remains awesome!

We came here to see what replaced the old pizza place here and we enjoyed our dinner! The layout is the same as the last place and all the decorations are cute. The food was mostly good, we got the garlic knots, mozzarella sticks and fried ravioli as appetizers and they were all delicious! The pizza was really good too, we got the Grandma and it was great, the Philly cheesesteak was also delicious as well. The only real problem was that the sauce didn’t really stick to the pasta but otherwise it was great. The staff is very friendly and the experience was worthwhile, we definitely recommend that you give Nunzio’s a try!
