While this review is long—and I admit that I sometimes skim reviews myself—I promise you’ll be grateful you read through the details of our experience before booking this hotel.||||This has to be the worst Wyndham property—possibly the worst hotel in general—that my family has ever stayed at. We are Wyndham members and have stayed multiple times at the Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista in Disney Springs, Orlando. That hotel is absolutely beautiful—spotlessly clean, with a fresh scent the moment you walk in, excellent food, a great bar, and some of the cleanest pools we’ve seen. Naturally, we expected a similar level of quality in Naples, but we couldn’t have been more disappointed.||||This was our fifth trip to Naples, a city we visit almost every year, but after this experience, we will never stay at this hotel again. We stayed for seven nights.||||Right from the moment we arrived, the red flags started showing. The front fountain that appeared so nice and inviting in the photos was actually green, murky, and clearly neglected. Then, to make things worse, there were no luggage carts available. We had to drag three full-sized suitcases, carry-ons, and backpacks through the lobby and up to our room ourselves—which was absolutely ridiculous and exhausting after a day of travel.||||The front desk staff was friendly, but the moment we stepped off the elevator, we were hit with a strong smell of cigarette smoke. The entire hotel is outdated and in poor condition. The bar advertised in the photos was closed for our entire stay. The carpets were stained and dirty.||||The suite smelled awful—so much so that we had to include a Febreze plug-in with our Target grocery delivery just to manage the odor. We kept switching it between rooms to make the space tolerable. The air conditioning unit was incredibly loud and barely cooled the room. Despite turning it down, the room stayed muggy and damp. When we got home, even our clean clothes had absorbed the moisture and needed to be rewashed.||||And at night, the smell of smoke got even worse. It literally felt like someone was smoking inside our room. I was spraying my body spray all around the suite just trying to mask the smell out of desperation. It was unbearable.||||The bathroom situation was another huge letdown. The pictures show updated, modern bathrooms—but that was absolutely not the case. Our bathroom was outdated, with an old, tiny showerhead and fixtures that clearly hadn’t been touched in years. The water pressure fluctuated constantly, and even at its best, it was so weak I could barely rinse shampoo and conditioner out of my hair. On top of that, the water didn’t drain properly in the tub—so every time I showered, I ended up standing in dirty water up to my ankles. Disgusting. The toilet also clogged at one point during our stay, which was just another frustrating issue to deal with.||||By night four, I was seriously considering switching to another hotel. I was so angry when I started looking around and realized that even the higher-end hotels along Fifth Avenue would have only cost a couple hundred dollars more total for the full seven-night stay—and would have been a dramatically better experience.||||What angers me the most is that we spent over $1,200 to stay here. We've stayed in more expensive places and definitely in cheaper ones—but even the most budget-friendly hotels we've used in the past were cleaner, more functional, and far more pleasant than this. The price point simply does not match the quality—or lack thereof—at this hotel.||||Throughout our stay, the fire alarms went off multiple times, which was frightening and disruptive. Then, on our third day, we were informed that we needed to be out of our room by 9 AM for a Cintas inspection. No one could tell us how long we’d be locked out, and we had a tour booked later that day. We were left unsure when we could return to shower and get ready—completely unacceptable.||||On several days during our stay, there were large groups of men—10 or more—using the BBQ grill area. While the grills are there for guest use, and I understand others are also vacationing, these men were in work shirts and jeans, drinking case after case of beer, being loud, and frankly making my daughter and me feel very uncomfortable with the way they looked at us. I don’t know if they were working nearby and staying here as an extended stay, but this did not feel like a safe or family-friendly environment.||||The pool was filled with leaves and bugs and looked poorly maintained. The hot tub was even worse—completely green and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. The photos online showed sparkling blue water in a clean, inviting pool—that was absolutely not the reality. Very misleading.||||I booked this suite thinking the extra space and kitchenette would make our stay more convenient, but honestly, I would have preferred a smaller, cleaner hotel room elsewhere. There are much better hotels in Naples at this price point.||||Even the complimentary breakfast was subpar—powdered eggs, paper-thin bacon, and nothing worth eating.||||As loyal Wyndham guests, we were genuinely shocked by the state of this property. It does not reflect the Wyndham brand we know and trust. Do yourself a favor and stay...
Read moreHawthorn Suits was very comfortable. We had a one bedroom suit. We found it to be clean with everything that you needed during your stay. Say this we found that it didn't hold up to other RCI properties we have stayed at. The trade off did not compare. It seems everything in the suit was the bare minimal. Cheap and economical. No thrills here. Simply a place to stay and sleep for a week. The rooms were small and tight. It appears as if the took a regular size room and added a wall to create a one bedroom. Fine if you want privacy from a few small children. Remember the place is tight I can not imagine staying they with more then just me and my wife.
The pool was nice after a day at the beach. Nothing like coming back to the hotel and extending a relaxing day. The pool itself was small so is you don't want to be splashed by the children enjoying the beware. There were 3 gazebos you could reserve for 3hr incriminates. We enjoyed that. There was plenty of sitting around the pool for all others.
Also keep in mind the beach is 4 to 5 miles this hotel. Parking is $8 + to park at the beach. This can add up
I know this sounds mostly negative. However the staff here is amazing.( I feel bad giving it such a low score but the truth is the truth.) The staff was polite and did their jobs well. If you needed anything all you had to do is ask. There was breakfast every morning. It was what you would expect at this type of hotel. It was adequate. One of the highlights and surprises was the appetizer s they offered at night along with a soda, wine or a beer. Appetizer s were different every night. Wings and chips, meatballs and chips, pretzel dogs and chips. Wednesday nights they actually feed everyone a complete meal. Hamburger, Hotdogs, chips, potato salad, salad.
If your not expecting anything more then a simple hotel this is a great spot for those on a budget. Feed the wife feed the kids...
Read moreI could have easily given a 5 star rating had it not been for a decision from management regarding a last minute cancellation that makes no sense. We were part of a group of at least 21 rooms that stayed one night for a high school softball tournament in Naples. Late the night before we were supposed to arrive, one of the players and mother that booked a room were notified they were directly exposed to someone that was hospitalized with Covid. To prevent exposing the team, players at the ballfield, the hotel staff and all of the guests at the hotel, they decided to not travel to Naples and self-quarantine at home. We found out today that they now have also tested positive and the mother is symptomatic. In other words, they did the RIGHT thing by not traveling and exposing everyone at the ball field, restaurants and hotel. However, because a 24 hour notice wasn't given, the hotel is not giving back the room cost that was prepaid with a team check. The player and mother were notified just before midnight before our arrival day. I was told by hotel staff that it was important for the hotel to be "sold out" that night so a refund would only be given if the room was able to be rented, which apparently did not happen. It is cruel and shameful to keep this $134 under the current pandemic situation. Had they traveled to the hotel, their entire staff and all of the guests that ate breakfast or passed them in the hall would have been exposed. They should be REWARDED for doing the responsible thing, NOT penalized $134. We come to this tournament every year and were booked to stay last year before the pandemic hit. Not only will I will not patronize this hotel or any Wyndham hotel in the future, I will certainly share my experience and feelings with those hosting the tournament and anyone that is interested in my personal and...
