We went and tried Pho 99 in Navare tonight. Never had Pho, wanted to give it a shot.
The place is owned by a Vietnamese Family. Service was excellent. Answered all my questions on how to eat it authentically.
I got the "Small" combo bowl, and some spring rolls to dip in the broth. This thing is not small at all. HUGE portions. Sssooo good. The meat balls have a different texture than I'm used to, but were tasty none the less. Came with a side of fresh basil leaves, bean sprouts, and 2 fresh Jalapeño slices. I'm normally good at chopsticks...but apparently not that good. Caught a cramp and had to swap over to a fork.
Melissa had General Tso's chicken. At a Vietnamese place. (🙄🙄). It was very good also. Different from what I've had at other places. Better. The rice was good. Flavorful. The egg drop soup...out of this world. I thought mine was good, but its dishwater compared to this. Ima have to throw my recipe out and start over.
We also tried the Vietnamese Iced Coffee. Sweet baby jebus it's good. Better than anything Starbucks ever thought about.
It was a great experience and great food. Will definitely be back many times to try all their...

I've never liked Pho back then, the soup was never satisfying enough. But their Pho here, is absolutely delicious! So before, I used to just get the grilled plates instead of a bowl of pho. I don't know what they do with their meat at Pho 99 but it's incredibly tender not to mention delicious! But it the tenderness of the meat that gets me. You hardly have to chew.
My husband likes to get their orange chicken, and honestly you can't go wrong with their American Chinese menu either.
I just wish they would do...
Read moreWhile staying at a local Airbnb we asked our host for down restaurant suggestions and they suggested Pho 99. This place is a local winner! The building is not much to look at but the food overcomes any shortcoming in the building. We had some of the best cream cheese wontons. They were so crispy and perfectly fried they made for a perfect appetizer. Then came the main dish we had the Beef Pho and Shrimp Pho. Both of these dishes were cooked perfectly and were some of the best we had ever had. The egg rolls were a little smaller than we were used to but they had a great taste. The staff was friendly and patient with us. Considering its location right off the beach the prices were...
