Outback Steakhouse, Palm Harbor, FL
Fourth visit in a row my steak was undercooked, each time CONFIRMED by the manager on duty. I have for my entire life ALWAYS ordered my steak medium-well. My steak I received was bloody-rare, there was a pool of blood on my plate. The last time, about a month ago, that I visited Outback the same thing happened and it took almost 25 minutes for the kitchen to re-make my steak and I did not have time for that this visit.
When I said something to my server, J**C, his response was "I didn't cook your steak!"
Nice.
A manager stopped by the table and I told her what happened and she did take the price of the steak off my bill, but I still left about half my steak on my plate and I left without a satisfying meal.
When JC brought my bill I asked if he could please bring me a paper traditional check instead of the digital pad that many restaurants are unfortunately switching too nowadays. I don't like touching that screen that 50 other people have touched that day, AND I DON'T LIKE HAVING THE SERVER STANDING THERE STARING AT ME WHILE I INPUT THE TIP AMOUNT!!! This is a horrible way to squeeze more guilt-tip money out of your loyal customers! JC said with attitude "Well, SINCE YOU SAID PLEASE!" and walked away towards the kitchen.
As I was leaving I said one last thing to the manager who was standing at the hostess podium and your hostess (who somehow knew all about my situation) said "Well, it seems like we can't ever satisfy you- why do you keep coming back?!"
???
So, because your cooks' have UNDERCOOKED MY STEAK (confirmed each time by restaurant management) your HOSTESS TOOK IT UPON HERSELF TO TELL ONE OF YOUR CUSTOMERS ESSENTIALLY THAT HE SHOULD STOP PATRONIZING OUTBACK RESTAURANTS because I dared to complain about my food not cooked properly (and bad service this visit). Is this part of your HOSTESSES' DUTIES?, to dis-invite customers???!
I've been eating at Outback for 30+ years...
My steak was way too fatty, when I sent it back my replacement steak was VERY undercooked. I asked for medium well and it was still bleeding! I asked for the manager to come over I showed her the steak and asked her "What would you call this temperature?" and she said "Medium rare." Again my steak was taken away and when they brought it back it seemed as though it had been sear cooked rather than flame broiled as I requested. It also was over seasoned or something, it just didn't taste good. But, by now I had been in the restaurant for an hour and I just wanted to leave. No attempt was made to offer guest satisfaction for my bad experience.
I like Outback, but for my last few visits it seems Outback...
Read moreMy husband and I went there for our New Years Eve dinner. Where do I begin….first, my husband went to the desk while I waited outside, gave our name and was told it would be about 15 minutes. A young girl came out and was calling names. We saw people that came after us being called in. After there was no one left outside I asked the girl at the door, who was calling the names, why were we still waiting after 45 minutes. She could not find our name on her list so she told us to go to the podium inside. They couldn’t find our name either. Finally the young girl said oh we called your name…inside! Why would she not check outside? Finally got our table for two between two huge parties. They were loud. We went early, about 5:30 to have a nice peaceful dinner. Not only that we were in the path of the outgoing orders by the back or side door. We ordered a blooming onion which seemed like it took forever to make. The waiter apologized for it taking so long as everyone seemed to order the onion at the same time. To be honest ours was very pasty as though it was not fully cooked. My husband ordered the ribeye, medium-rare, I ordered the New York strip medium-rare. My husband cut into his steak, it was perfect. I cut into mine, it was medium-well. So after 10 minutes the waiter comes to our table. I showed him the steak. He apologized and he looked at his order pad to make sure I ordered it medium-rare and told me he would get them to make me another one. Meanwhile my husband was getting aggravated with all the noise around us. We thought, why put two older people at a table in the middle of two large parties. He said when the waiter brings back my steak we will ask for boxes and eat at home. Well when the second steak came out, while the waiter was there I cut into it. It was more well-done than the first one. By that time I was livid. The waiter went and got A manager. I showed her the steak. She said it was well-done. She told me she would get me another one. I said no, just take this off my bill. She offered me soup, dessert anything I wanted. Again I said no. My husband took his steak and potato home. My dog Buddy had my $25 steak for dinner! Next time we’ll go to Longhorns….if they take your name, they don’t lose it. If you ask for a medium-rare steak, that’s how you get it. Bye,...
Read moreOh goodness where do I begin... let's start with comfort, the entire right side of the restaurant was extremely uncomfortable and very hot, apparently the AC was fixed 2 days before, the AC company did a lousy job, it just made the dining experience miserable. The floor underneath the table was very slippery, not sure what was going on there? It didn't seem as clean as it should have been. I ordered the NY strip medium with a sweet potato and veggies, when it arrived it had a huge bone (looked like a t-bone) with alot of fat on it, and quite tough, I didn't enjoy it at all nor did I have the energy to send it back, I just wanted to get out of there as quick as I could, I was uncomfortable and sweating profusely, I also felt intimidated at the thought of sendingit back not sure why. This location is completely different from the Trinity or Tampa restaurants (closest comparison in the area) the food there is nicer, definitely MUCH more comfortable and clean atmosphere. This is the second time I've been to the Palm Harbor location (once prior to the pandemic) both times it was unacceptable and didn't look clean, I'm more of a compliment guy vs a complainer however if it's not good, it's not good period. I will not return to this location until I'm 100% sure these issues have been addressed and corrected maintenance problems fixed. I love Outback just not this one, the service was alright not bad not excellent just alright (slow) no manager came to our table and introduced themselves (I like this) they do it in other outback restaurants.
Palm Harbor I'm so sorry but I'm not impressed at all with your restaurant, I know you guys can do better than this even the water pressure in the men's room when washing my hands was unacceptable, GET IT TOGETHER!! The one thing I did enjoy is the fact they were not operating at 100% capacity, had they were I'm pretty sure I would have walked out and left. Using a school grading scale, and taking everything into consideration you've earned a D which in my book is unacceptable 😑 invite me back when you feel all these details have been sorted out, I will remove and replace my review with a positive one only if you're committed to customer service and making things right, so for the consumer if you're reading this, they've done nothing about it, I would reconsider...
