Outback is a go to restaurant.. ordered a filet medium well and they don’t guarantee that cook.. I’m fine with this.. I received my steak charbroiled with blacken spice charred into the steak. Been going to outback’s since they came to Naples Fl believe it was in the 90’s but no less the 22 years.. I’ve never had such thick spice on a steak before (without requesting such) I originally tried to scrape off the seasoning but as I said it was charred into the steak. All I could think of is my face swelling come morning because of all the salt.. I tried cutting the spice off and my girlfriend that was with me was like noo.. no no no.. stop. She called the waitress over and the waitress said that was the way they did it.. I should’ve asked for a light spice.. well I had another thing I could actually complain about and she did NOT like that my steak wasn’t cooked properly.. she was like nooo. My friend asked to speak to the manager or he over heard or something.. but he came over. He saw my steak and started asking me how I ordered my steak. I told him a petit 6 oz medium well. But because of the spice I can’t eat it.. he looked at the steak and said not to mention it’s “Rare” albeit on that one.. cause I’ve got my scraping tools. But I can’t scrap it off cause ya can’t… it’s seared into the steak..lol. He was so sweet. I had started to eat my meal as I stated dug into the potatoe and veggies.. the manager brought me back a whole fresh plate with a beautifully cooked filet.. just gorgeous.. so the chef and the waitress they obviously didn’t care what they were serving or what was said. It was my fault… lol
And that’s why I don’t complain cause I do not like being called a liar or cheat. And that’s basically what the staff does when they do this… But just tell me next time if you don’t follow the standards of the rest of the OBs and I’ll order...

So the bread and blooming onion were brought to the table at the same time, the salad was also brought before we had even eaten 2 bites from the onion. The food was brought and we had a table full of food and really no dining space. But the worst part was the food was cold. Now here was the deal breaker because I had the sirloin with shrimp and baked potato. The potato had a dollop of sour cream and onions but zero cheese or bacon and when I broke it open there wasn't even enough to cover a quarter of the potato and not even any butter; just white, dry, potato. The steak had 2 dollops of garlic butter, neither melted and more butter than steak. Yes, I ordered the 6oz and I had a larger portion of butter than steak. So, I thought I would use the butter on the potato but it was just an icing on the potato and the same on the shrimp and the steak,nit never melted and without the proper melt it did nothing for the food except over power. I asked the waitress for potato toppings which she brought promptly but they did not melt and the meal was just not very good at all. The steak was also rare, not medium rare with a had sear that had a crunchy outter layer and raw center, not a tender, juicy, mouth watering steak at all. Nothing made me want to return at all. I did not complain because I do not trust people enough to do so. Read moreWe went to dinner here tonight. Worst food ever, we won't be returning ever again! Husband ordered his ribeye medium well and it came out rare, my ribeye was supposed to be well done and it came out medium rare. They took my steak back to cook again and it came back tasting like the burned grille. My husband was trying to tough through eating his without returning it. (Bloody mess) He doesn't believe in re-cooking a steak. Its a steak house and should be cooked right the first time. So disappointing! Manager came by and took off half the price of his steak but only after i asked. The steaks were ribeyes and weren't cheap cuts of meat to not be cooked right. We left still hungry. I believe they should of cared more about us and comped both meals. My husband hates to complain and make a scene so they took advantage of that. I hated looking at his rare bloody steak on his plate. Ruined our dining experience for the evening. Its not about the money either its about the way it was handled. We like to eat out good food with good service and we tip well. They acted like we were in the wrong for wanting our steaks cooked correctly the first time. We'll be taking our business elsewhere.
