Hobby Lobby — Local services in Saint Augustine

I did like the majority of Hobby Lobby’s , don’t get me wrong, but there’s a strange air of religious pretension that lurks in the air. Along with this -the complete lack of interaction at the register. Terrible customer service! Today , I don’t know if the girl was talking to herself about the price of something or me or someone else. No eye contact at all. No hello , no have a nice day nothing!!!! And they are so about this “ Christian” atmosphere… music / art etc…, what a joke. Something else that completely irritated me…. I was asking a question in the sewing area about some sewing related…. And a MANAGER walked by, then from about 20 feet away , walking to the cutting table stops and purposely called her over , and basically belittled her on the sales floor. Bad , very bad behavior. So unprofessional. This place literally blast Christian music in the stores but forgets the meaning behind their blatant religious protest.

Once again, ( i only go here because it’s down the street)….. I wanted to exchange a paint….. I was buying other things… I go up to the cashier, I say I have a return, before I can get the word out of my mouth she cuts me off and says “I don’t do returns!” wow!!!!!!!!! I turn around and go to another lane… I go up and say , do you take returns/ exchanges? She says yes. I’m like , ok, why does that lane behind you not? She said, you see the HUGE sign above me Returns and exchanges?”

The one star is for the angry manager, who wasn't even willing to let me ask my question. He expressed anger, refusing to let me speak. See the 50% off sign for Decorative Hardware? See the package with exact same wording? Decorative Hardware. He wasn't nice enough to say, "Sorry for the confusing sign." He was rude, and turned and stomped away, without letting me show him the package. He didn't care about me, the other customers, or his employees, who tried to intervene. He turned his back on me, without ever hearing me, and stomped away in anger. The employees later told me I was not the first customer to question the sign, and the store policy. They were trying to keep me from taking the manager's actions personally. It doesn't make me feel any better to know that I am among a large group, that was treated poorly. Instead, it forced me to draw attention to the indignant treatment customers receive at Hobby Lobby. Further, the Corporate Office of Hobby Lobby should be ashamed of the predicament they place their Store Managers in, when the wording and placement of their 50% off posters is deceptive, as to exactly what is and isn't on sale. Heads up, St. Augustine Florida. If you need custom framing, I highly recommend Hobby Lobby, Store #226 on route 312. We have had 4 pictures done since last Christmas. Our first two jobs were done with a gentleman by the name of Rico. He is very thorough, patient & professional, Our last two jobs were done by James. He is every bit as good as Rico. However, he even exceeded our expectations!!! We bought a STOCK frame for a picture we recently purchased. James helped by taking a picture of our picture, putting it into his computer and spent a great deal of time helping us select the best mat to enhance the picture. He then cut the mat, mounted the picture on foam board & completely assembled everything. I spoke with Millie, assistant store manager, told her what an outstanding James did & told her that I thought he deserved a raise! A job well done, James!!! ...
