I ordered a take out XL NY style Pepperoni Pizza and redeemed an offer for a free chocolate chip cookie. What a MAJOR disappointment!
I don't do delivery as I cannot justify a $5 delivery fee and the usual $5 tip for an average $15 order, but, as my last two take out orders were not ready when I arrived (despite the app advising such) this time I decided to add a $5.03 tip to my $14.97 order... just to see if it helped me get better service. IT DID NOT.
When I arrived at this location's drive thru, I sat unacknowledged for 5 minutes, despite 3 employees looking directly at me, before a young woman came to the window and got my information. She immediately returned with 2 boxes, both with my name and order number.
The pizza, however, was NOT what I ordered, and was clearly someone else's. I waved for assistance, the young woman returned and upon inspection of the box and pizza stated: "you're right, that's weird" then disappeared without another word.
11 minutes later she returned with what appeared to be my ordered pizza and apologized for the mix-up.
Unfortunately, when I got home I found it to be luke warm; with no discernible sauce and, at best, maybe a handful of cheese spread across the entire XL pizza.
I scraped off all the cheese & pepperoni and piled such onto 2 slices (adding additional cheese as well) rather than dealing with a second return.
On a positive note, the cookie was surprisingly tasty.
I will be contacting the Store Manager as well as Papa John's Corporate and will update this review...
Read morePapa Johns is not the same place it used to be. the one that delivers to my house it consistently bad tasting and usually is missing something from the order. the only reason I would order after all the failures of this location is because i like the garlic butter sauce and my kids like it. We stopped ordering from here and will never order form any Papa Johns again. Every year or so they increase the price of the pizzas. Now it is $16 each plus $4.25 delivery fee. They are so greedy they do not deserve business from anyone. The delivery fee should not even exist, that was incorporated about 7 years or so ago when gas prices were raising and was misleading as part of a driver's guaranteed tip because they are not compensated for gas for making the deliveries. That never went to the driver btu always to the company, in addition they began raising their prices to pretend like that was part of the fuel surcharge they needed to incorporated to offset the fuel cost. This company is one that raised the cost of their products and began with the delivery charge. Big business does not care about their customers, this company is no different. Anythonys Coal Fire Pizza delivers for free and is 1000 times better than this place and for the cost of 2 large pizzas - you will pay the same price as...
Read moreWorse decision I made. The only reason why I gave a 2 is because I spoke to another manager about this a couple days later and they sounded like that cared. I stayed at a hotel that had local pizza company’s which I’ve always supported but I had a taste for Papa John’s. I was emailed that it would be 40 min on delivery. I waited 1 hr so I went down stairs (stayed at a hotel) to catch the driver then called to see how long he would be. Manager put me on hold for several min which is understood because “they were busy” no problem. He tells me give the driver 10 minutes he’s on his way. I waited 30 min with my tip on hand and called back explaining I’ve been standing outside since our last conversation and he never showed.. Put me on hold and told me the driver put the pizza in my hand and that it was delivered. So that was insulting. After a min of non reasoning I asked for my refund. I don’t do bad reviews because I understand people need their jobs but I expected greater customer service out of...
