The space when you enter is nice until you sit down. The tables are very close to each other and they have tea lights on your table that are just essentially a burned out wick taking up space. Also for a japanese place the only hot tea they have is matcha. They play just music in spanish which I am hispanic and like, but can see how it can be confusing to the dynamic of a “Japanese” restaurant. We started with the “fried” Gyoza which comes with 5 fully fried gyozas and came very quickly to our table. You can tell it’s frozen and is not traditionally prepared as it’s supposed to be pan-fried but it’s completely deep fried with very little filling. It’s also served with shredded… beets? I like beets so it was fine. My Mother’s food came ten minutes before mine and she ordered two imitation crab hand rolls. It lacks a lot flavor and finesse. The roll just had a huge stick of imitation crab inside which is a bit unsightly. It was okay at best. My Chicken Katsu came later with more shredded beats instead of the traditional shredded cabbage on the side. It was a VERY thin, dry piece of chicken. It was cut into pretty uneven pieces served haphazardly. They also forgot my side of spicy mayo; I had to ask twice for it.
Service wise it was again, okay. A lot of the times I could see the waiters/waitresses on their phones but they were nice to us. I was trying to use the restroom there since I was welcomed, but I believe a waitress was in there for the entire 25 minutes; (benefit of the doubt maybe she had an emergency! but there was only one bathroom available at once) I saw her walking away from the bathroom right before I got the check. Speaking of the check, I was given one on the small table before they even cleared the table! There was barely any space left on the table. Good thing it was tap to pay and I didn’t have to sign anything. Also I would’ve expected service to be amazing as the restaurant was basically empty.
All in all if you’re looking for a traditional Japanese place this is not it. But it might be cute for drinks and...

Read moreOur server was super friendly and advocated for us. We had 7 people in our group.
We ordered 4 appetizers and two came out together, one came out with salad and soup and the fourth came out after our entrees (it was the beef appetizer, which we ordered medium rare and it came out well). Make sure to state your dietary restrictions as not all ingredients are identified in the entree description.
I like the Miami Heats Roll. I expect most of the sushi rolls to be fantastic. For the entrees, rice was not cooked properly, chicken was cold. Entrees came out in 3 groups with a large separation. It seemed like what ever was prepared first was then delivered instead of timing it appropriately.
It was a very American feeling sushi restaurant. You can expect mainstream pop music with a...
