(See the type of response I received by the salon owner below) So, anyone who is reading this review; you can see exactly the type of experience I am talking about...🤦🏾♀️ SMH. The owner replied to my unsatisfied first time experience review in a VERY UNPROFESSIONAL MANNER by saying "we are happy that we didn't take you, because we don't want your "negative energy". That type of unprofessional response from the salon owner says a lot.
At the end of the day, you did me a favor. Such an unprofessional response to my review. Being that it was my first time and what "could have been" a long-term client especially since I do live in the neighborhood. This business did not try to offer alternative options. Even being fully booked for the day, instead of immediately turning me away the receptionist should have AT LEAST TRY to offer other options such as I don't know, ASKED ME WOULD I LIKE TO BOOK ON ANOTHER DAY... or how about, CREATING A NEW CLIENT PROFILE THAT WILL HELP YOU WITH BUILDING CLIENTS RELATIONSHIP.
That is BASIC CUSTOMER SERVICE. Something that can go a long way for any business. Instead of immediately turning me away, the receptionist could've asked to take my name and number for future appointments; EVEN IF YOUR SALON WAS FULLY BOOKED FOR THAT DAY. Again, that is called BASIC CUSTOMER SERVICE, and that is how you build professional long-term client/customer relationships (something that this business clearly lacks). What is even more of an disappointment now is the owner unprofessional, and negative response to my review. Such bad manners. If you knew better, than you would DO BETTER.
(Initial review below) Today was my first time going to this nail salon, as I usually go to TNT Nail Salon (Skylake neighborhood) or Mai Salon (Bal Harbour).
I didn't have an appointment, however, I was immediately turned away from the receptionist. She told me that there's no wait time for the day. Mind you, I stopped by during the early afternoon (12 PM) on a Sunday, and the salon closes at 3PM.
Prior to going, I read the reviews, and there's a recent reviewer who mentioned the same thing and I overlooked the "Because I was black" comment. I still decided to give this nail salon a try since it's in my neighborhood, and I live literally across the street from this salon. I've never walked in a nail salon, get turned away, and without being offered a wait time.
That being said, I will never go back there again. I'll stick to my usual nail salons: TNT Nails (Skylake neighborhood) and/or Mai Nail Salon (Bal Harbour Neighborhood). What a...
Read moreif you care about the health if your nails when doing nail extensions, i do not recommend this place. i do not usually add tips/press-ons or do do gel polish nails, because of the harsh put on and take off process. but for special occasions or if i need my nails to stay fresh a little longer, i just deal with it
a couple of years ago i was trying to grow out my nails and heard of the apres-x system, and how its supposed to less harsh on nails. at the time they only had one nail tech who could do the aprex-x, and she did a fantastic job. she didnt drill/buff too much, she fit the fake nail well to my real nail bed, the final product looked great and natural (no designs, just polish), and lasted over two weeks until i was ready to take it off. i went back to her for take down and, again, she did a fantastic job with take down. there was very little damage to my nails for the put on and take down process
flash forward two years later, that nail tech is no longer there but they had other people who can do apres-x. i was not satisfied with the final look with just nail polish and no design, but i dealt with it and didnt make a fuss about it (it looked like when you played with press ons as a little girl). i did notice this current tech was drilling quite a bit in prepping my nails, but i let it go. i went back for take down and got a different tech, and that person buffed my nails down so much that there is a visible separation from where my nail is growing in to the area where its over buffed. on top of that, my nails are sensitive probably because too much is exposed, so im just waiting for it to grow out
the only pro i can say of this place both in the past and currently is that everyone is courteous, they have a welcoming environment, and the people seem to get along with each other
im giving three stars as an average if my experiences (5 for before, 1 for recent). i can’t speak to their other services or the experiences of people who regularly get nail extensions and designs. but for occasional people like me that only do extensions for special occasions and also care about the health of their nails, i do not...
Read moreThe location overall is really nice. The people are also nice. There are different people than I’m used to seeing doing nails… there are black, white, asian, puerto rican, people which I love!! Very clean, very sanitary and they have two shops in the same strip. I was taken down to the 2nd shop which was super nice like the 1st. They offer drinks, non-alcoholic and alcoholic!! So I was so excited to get my nails done… Unfortunately it was a disappointing experience. I got a refill, on a short set, only one nail fixed, gel polish, and a pedicure with gel polish, no designs, no jewels, no add ons, simple acrylic with gel polish. My total was $118! I believe the process at the end of service is intentionally chaotic because there’s about 5 people at the checkout desk with these little slips trying to pay. The lady had about 4 cards in her hand trying to match up slips and it was just a mess. So when I got my total I was just like, eh? Anyway, the refill was ok, she used too much acrylic and the foundation was bumpy. The pedicure was actually a good one but the foot tubs are not warm or hot, they’re ice cold because there’s just liquid sitting in them and they just say sit at this one and stick your feet in cold water. They never turn the jets on, you get no massage, very little of what I’m used too. It was just weird. But the tech was great! We talked the entire time. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning to this particular nail shop because it’s way too expensive and far and the service just didn't add up to the price and distance. I’ll drive and pay but not for...
