Miami Foodie Guide | A Taste of Everything from Around the Globe

We had a very disappointing experience with this company which I was excited to use for a special post-concert gathering. They were unresponsive despite different attempts, my first being on April 10th for a May 5th event. I tried Instagram, website contact form, email, and finally, direct text. Although through email they finally responded that they "only deliver the food", we were able to set up a phone call by April 26th to clarify, since this response didn't align with their beautiful promotional photos. I didn't give up because they were our first choice and they had said the date was available. On the phone, I was happy to hear more of their services described, and we worked out, per their recommendations and experience, the best solution for our particular event: a 75-100 people cocktail hour with servers walking appetizers among the crowd. The challenge with the food was that it was outdoors, so their idea was great. The food was kept safe at a station, and the consumption was regulated by the servers. I was told in this phone call, as I was through email, that they were available on my date. I got a rough estimate and was sent a menu to choose the appetizers to be passed out. I updated others in the organization happily- we have a caterer! And texted them pictures from their website. I sent out a question about our last choice of the appetizers later that same day on Friday and then on Saturday, with no answer. On Monday, I was getting a little anxious about their communication but was confident they were still servicing our event. I texted them and received no answer. On Tuesday, I texted again, asking for an invoice, and how to pay a deposit, no answer. On Wednesday, still convinced they would do the job and were just too busy to respond I decided to call. Maybe they finalize it all closer to the event, I thought. I spoke to a different person then and although she knew my name, it made me nervous that it felt like I was starting the process all over again. At the end of our call, and as a total surprise to me, she told me she would get back to me to tell me IF they were able to "accommodate us" on May 5th. This was 3 days before the event. About an hour later, I got a text telling me all they could do was a drop off and set up of a large charcuterie spread and I was quoted the same estimate, "excluding delivery fee, set up fee, and taxes". It was a complete departure of all we had discussed, incompatible with the event, and with a price tag that didn't make sense anymore. I believe she sent me this for us to decline. ALL I WISH is that they would have told me from the start they were either too busy or uninterested in the scale of my event. At the very least, they could have answered my texts on Monday or Tuesday. It would have been a simple courtesy that may have allowed me to find someone else. By Wednesday, no company I was able to connect with would do our event, and I don't blame them. They all showed great sympathy for our situation and wished they could help. This scramble was in addition to all else that is required before a large event and there was no time to solve it. We had to cancel this component of it. After a long and emotional concert, marking the director of our organization stepping down after 10 years of leadership due to health, we had nothing to offer our audience as a gesture of gratitude. EDIT after response: This owner's response months later was unnecessary, immature, and a lie. I NEVER received an invoice and communication from their end was terrible. Why would a non-profit organization be "envious" of a catering business? My account of what happened was thorough and accurate. Why not just admit our smaller event fell through the cracks or that there were communication issues within her business while she was out of the country and move on? My review was professional and respectful and her answer speaks for itself. Reviews are for feedback on specific experiences and no matter your record, this was ours.

SO happy we chose Picameal to cater our dream wedding in paradise! Vanessa and her team went above and beyond. From the communication leading up to our wedding, the professionalism, the menu options, the DELICIOUS food - everything was perfect. She was so easy to work with and did an absolutely amazing job. We needed vegan and vegetarian options and not only did she absolutely nail it - she was excited to get creative! We asked if it was possible to have beef Wellington bites as an appetizer because it was the first meal my husband ever cooked for me and she loved the idea of incorporating something meaningful to us! We were blown away with her creativity and displays of the yummiest food! The staff was great - we especially adored Brittany (not just because she has the same name as me). She was so attentive and had the best personality!...
