Pizzitalia's — Restaurant in Florida

This was an order I placed through Uber Eats while visiting Tampa in Fall 2021. Two twelve inch pizzas- one regular meat lovers, the other stuffed meat lovers, and spaghetti with a meatball and a sausage.

First things first- the price. It is appropriately priced for a small business that is not part of a large chain. While most chain restaurants can leverage their quantity over suppliers, it typically diminishes quality of product. That is not an issue for this place. My impression from the upcoming parts of the review support the belief that this place is properly priced, as the quality is there.

When I entered, I was immediately greeted and my order checked on. The location is not large, which, in my opinion, makes it nicer. The décor was pleasant and not overdone, and the staff was attentive to patrons.

Upon receiving my order and returning to my hotel with it, I took a look and found it looks as appealing as it smells, which is to say delicious.

You can tell that the ingredients are not premade by the appearance- not cookie cutter, rather as though it is actually worked into form.

The spaghetti is what I tasted first; the sauce is quite nice, with plenty of sauce for the pasta. One order could truthfully be split between two people.

The meatball is sizeable and flavorful, as is the sausage. While it does keep its form properly, the meatball was tender and very finely ground. The sausage was much the same, as it was very tender.

The stuffed pizza can be likened to a calzone- sauce in a separate cup and ingredients inside of a crust, as a pie. The cheese and herb sprinkle across the top pairs nicely with a robust dipping sauce.

The signature meat lovers pizza has nice and thin crust that is properly soft and pairs well with the generous amount of toppings.

Overall, this order gets a five...

I was sooooo wildly conflicted on the food rating with this wonderful place. I know, my intro sentence doesn't exactly match my rating. The staff were nice and attentive. Pros: If you are going here for the Pizza and the kind service, you will be very impressed, as it was a 5 star in my opinion. Cons: The garlic knots... crash and burn. Complete epic failure (critical fail roll for the nerds in the crowd). It was literally served as garlic flavored Italian cinnamon-less buns (please, I'd rather you just say you don't sell them instead of getting these). They were nearly burned on one side and perfectly cooked on the other. On a side note, the garlic and seasoning served with them were amazing, and so was the marinara dipping sauce. Their drink machine is way overdue for an update. the drink options were very limited. Their lobby is quite small, I can imagine getting a table while they are busy is likely impossible. Fortunately for me, they were not busy while we were there. Final thoughts: I was so wildly conflicted to have to give this place a negative after the great service and amazing pizza. I over-ate just wanting to stuff more of that delicious pizza in my mouth. This place is well worth a visit, especially if you want a nice dine-in...

Found them on DoorDash looking for Italian food one night because I was craving it and let me tell you I'm sooooo glad I found it as its now one of the two best REAL Italian restaurants in Tampa period!!. The takeout was so good we had to try it out and just got back from eating there...

The food is delicious, and as someone whos family owned an Italian restaurant in NYC for 50 years as authentically Italian as you are going to find! Finally it tastes like I'm back home in NYC! The portions are huge the way an Italian restaurants portions should be and you get plenty of food to take home! It literally looked like we ordered takeout that's how much we came home with! And let me just say all the hoopla over the garlic knots is legit because they are the best garlic knots I've ever had anywhere in my life! The chicken francese tasted like I made it myself, the vodka sauce was best I've had in Tampa, and even their chicken parm was really good as their sauce is sooo tasty and chicken very tender.
