With some adjustments this could be really great restaurant. As they are still new I hope they are reading reviews and making corrections. Interior is decorated with cut and painted metal and led murals and giant blown glass flowers. Booth seating with tall divider walls between. We want on a Monday night and the place was busy but no wait. We were seated in a booth with seats too close to the table. The table was anchored so during the set up someone was greedy and squeezed in one too many booths. Across the aisle the booths had more room. If you have any girth at all, request a larger booth. We are larger and no one paid attention to this when we were seated. First you must try the authentic Aguas Frescas. Tamarindo and Jamaica were both excellent We ordered Table Side Quacamole. It was excellent. I recommend ordering with less jalapeno and extra lime. It was delicious and you might want to add salt.. The lady who comes by with the cart says to pay her and points to the tip jar on her cart. The waitress said the jar was for tips and to place orders thru her. It was confusing because the cart lady approached us first and the waitress was translating for her. The red salsa that everyone gets with chips was also excellent and had a nice smokey flavor. The menu is several pages long with too many options and not enough descriptions. They could have half as many options and it would still be plenty. My husband ordered the Burrito Jalisco which had chicken, spicy chorizo and rice. It was smothered in cheese sauce with pico on top. He liked it and ate half and saved the rest for lunch. I ordered the Fajita Fiesta which was supposed to be fish stuffed with scallops and shrimp and a side of vegetables. I asked what the vegetables were and the waitress said peppers and onions. It was a plate of burnt fibery broccoli stems, carrots and cauliflower with a lot of scallops, some shrimp and a fish filet. All of it tasted exactly the same, super bland. It was obvious the veggies- whose flavor did not go well with seafood- were precooked and then heated up on the same grill with the seafood. It all tasted like grill oil. I was wondering if they forgot to season it but reading other reviews that also mention really bland fish, I don't think so. It came with red rice which was ok and flour tortillas which were tender soft and must have been made in house. I had to ask for Limes for the fish and still couldn't make myself eat it. What Mexican place serves fish without limes? I recommend this restaurant eliminate all seafood or that they rework their recipes. I love Mexican food and go several times a month into Wimauma to pick up at the food trucks or small carry out restaurants. For the price I paid for this food, it wasn't right. I would have been happier if my food had been edible On a side note all staff speak Spanish to each other at all times. This place does it more than any other. They all speak English fluently except for the Quacamole cart lady. I find it a bit over the top when people do this to make you think the place is more Mexican. I'd rather that be accomplished by having awesome food. As we left I asked other couples how their food was. They were all happy but none of them had seafood. I will give it another shot. But I do think I will mostly be getting food from the many...
Read moreWent here on Friday night, arriving around 8pm. Place was packed, 45 minutes wait and bar was loaded. We put our name on list then while waiting we got seats at the bar. Had we waited to a table it would have been 45 minutes. Place stayed packed until 11pm.
This is a new location for this restaurant but like all newly opened places things were a bit clunky. Bar remained without bussing by staff and we had to remove previous guests dishes and mess. It took quite a while to order drinks and get menus due to number of patrons and bar staff of 2 that weren’t accustomed to high volume bar service. Food came out very slowly and it was a challenge to get little things for the meal like utensils. Also at least one of the menu items wasn’t in the computer so I couldn’t order the fajitas Del Mar.
The drinks. The margaritas flight was great. Lime, strawberry, and mango were on the flight 8oz each. Great drinks and value.
Food. Seafood tower was good, but it was very red onion forward that overwhelmed the other flavors in the dish. Also you had to dig around all the onions to get to the seafood which again was overwhelmed by the raw red onion.
Octopus was cooked beautifully. Great char while very tender on the inside. The green peppers and onions were raw and very under seasoned. There really was no place or need for them. Again, octopus was perfect which saved the dish.
Fiesta fajitas were very good. Fish and shrimp were cooked great. Scallops were big, cooked nice, but could have benefited from a bit of a sear to them. Rice and beans were good and properly seasoned.
Shrimp cocktail was great. Came with bed of delicious civeche that was delightful.
We WILL return and as the staff settles in I’m sure the rough parts will smooth out and perhaps next time I can upgrade to 5 stars.
Facility was clean and staff was very friendly. Nice decor, wonderful music, and great...
Read moreI’ve given this place chance after chance and they just keep disappointing. The food is trash, but the drinks are aight I’ll give them that. Last time I was there was noche de bandas, requested a table for 12 and we were sat pretty quick. My whole table ordered drinks and about 5 flights of shots, my party decided to skip on food bc again it’s trash! We’re all lit banda is a vibe although it was 1 hour late. Then all of a sudden management comes to our table requesting that we buy a bottle. She told us “this table was already reserved for a party who was going to purchase a bottle, and that in order to get a table for noches de banda you must purchase a bottle”. We were never told we had to purchase a bottle to be get a table, and if it was reserved why sit us there?! My whole party’s tab already covered the price of a bottle so I didn’t understand what the problem was! My party decided to just get the bottle, I personally would have gotten up and left but my party wanted to enjoy the banda 🙄 And on top of that they wanted us to pay the bottle right then and there as if we were going to run off and not pay the tab 😂 Staff including the OWNER lack professionalism and communication! Train your staff not to seat people in an “already reserved table” and to communicate to the customer that they must purchase a bottle in order to be seated at a table if there’s a banda! And beware when ordering food here they’ve served me expired food, camarones momia to be exact idk if it was the bacon or the shrimp but it was nasty! 🤢 Also the floor is slippery AF, gotta wear restaurant shoes if you plan on visiting this place or have your lawyer on...
