This is really unfortunate because a year ago, this was mine and my husbands favorite place to go. We haven’t been here for a year due to our schedules never allowing us to go, however when we got the opportunity we jumped on it. Disappointed is an understatement. There were 4 waitresses and yet 3 families were standing outside waiting while there was 3 to 4 tables that haven’t been cleaned off. One family waiting ahead of us ended up just taking one of the tables outside before it was cleaned off. We had been waiting for about 20 minutes before they even started bussing the tables. This is typically something I can overlook as we aren’t in a rush. Once we finally got seated it took a while before someone came over to get our drinks. Once we finally got the menus we were shocked to see the prices had substantially gotten higher and they upcharged for quite literally everything. But we figured that they must have upgraded the portions if they raised the prices. We were very wrong. We ordered our typical chicken Tom Kha soup that originally put this place on the map for us. It’s was $8.00 for a extremely small bowl of soup which they didn’t even fill up all the way. It had maybe 3 small pieces of chicken in it, and mine literally had half an onion! Quite disappointing. However, the waitress never came over to check in on us for us to be able to mention it. By then our entrées were out and we just moved on. I got the Chicken Pad Thai and my husband got the build your own Poke bowl. I have never had a pad Thai be served with raw bean sprouts and over cooked rice noodles. There was also not much chicken in the dish at all. The sauce was overwhelmingly sweet and just all around not good. My husbands poke bowl had little fish in it, and the rice was burnt. You could smell the burnt rice coming off of his bowl. Which is a shame since his bowl was $20 just by itself. It’s truly unfortunate because this experience completely ruined it for us and we won’t be back since we left having to pay so much for such underwhelming food and experience. I don’t typically write reviews, but I hope that my review will bring some awareness to the owners that they need to up their quality control and maybe expand their portions a little more since they...
Read morePERFECT RESTAURANT. UPDATED REVIEW 10-02-2024, I would give this six stars out of five if the option was available. I feel it necessary to update this review since my initial time coming here in February to let you know that I've been here over 30 times in the last eight months. (I know it's at least 30 because my bank statement shows that many transactions, but it's definitely more because I have paid in cash before too). This place is 101% quality. It is a delight to be here every week. Don't sleep on Rooster Thai! They're a regional treasure.
Bro really?? This place is everything I wanted it to be when I was browsing online and scoping out the menu prior to visiting. You know our town has a lot of quality sushi places and yet this place stands out to me as the classiest and snazziest of them all. Pasco County sushi establishments need to all pitch their tent in the direction of Rooster Thai Sushi. This is the atmosphere I want when I'm eating sushi, I feel like I'm in the city. Had to consider ordering an entire second round of sushi because I was so happy with what I got, and I still have the entire Thai side of the menu to try out (but what I could smell while in-visiting from other tables' orders was tantalizing and terrific foreshadowing for my next visit). I'm already excited to come back. Thanks for being a premium choice for our area, RTS
edit 1: I came back the next day because I was so happy, and I loved it doubly as much. Severely good lunch prices that beat out their competitors at every level. Can't wait to come back...
Read moreI get the pad thai, and my boyfriend gets the panang curry. Pad thai is probably my favorite meal/dish ever. I've eaten it from a few of the surrounding places in Port richey, and they're all pretty good, but this one gives a bit of a bigger portion for a slightly lower price than the surrounding places. I waited a bit longer than was quoted to me, but to be fair, they looked pretty busy inside. I placed the order online, and they quoted me 30 minutes, so I showed up in exactly 30 minutes. Waited an additional 10-15 minutes, which wasn't ideal since there wasn't really an air-conditioned place to wait, so I had to wait outside on the benches. Not bad, just not ideal. I got mild spicy on my pad thai, and it was definitely spicy but not spicy enough that I felt I needed water every sip. The panang curry only gave the option of medium for spicy level, and my boyfriend loves spicy, so he enjoyed it, but I could tell that a mild would've been a little more enjoyable. At the same time. Thai food isn't known for its mildness, so it's probably more authentic. The setup is a little confusing if you're going for the first time. The closest parking right to the door is typically full, and the parking lot is a little weird. The setup doesn't look like it, but it's like a mini plaza with a center and multiple stores. It's a little further of a drive than some other places, but I think...
