Read moreWhile returning from a nice trip to the Keys, my friend wanted to show us some food from his native Colombia. This place doesn't look like much from the outside, but the ambiance was pretty amazing on the inside with Colombian music playing in the background.
We were greeted promptly upon getting inside in Spanish. My speaking ability is extremely rusty, but luckily we had someone in the crew who was able to translate effectively for us. After ordering drinks, we received some complimentary chicken broth. It was perfectly seasoned, and honestly some of the best soup I've ever had.
For lunch fare, I was looking for something on the lighter side that wouldn't put me to sleep on the rest of the way back. I settled on the salchichas francesas, which turned out to be some high quality hot dogs served with french fries and a variety of different tasty sauces. While tasty, it was on the salty side. I also had a beef empanada that while tasty also had a little bit of an oily flavor. Portions and value were great nonetheless, and my friends seemed happy with their choices. I would probably choose something else for my entree if I had the opportunity to visit again.
Overall, I'd give this place another shot. I would recommend brushing up on your Spanish in the event your server doesn't speak English or go with a friend who...
Read moreI celebrated both my son's birthday here with lunch, party of 12, a stroller and a 10 yr old. It was on a Sunday and I was so stressed out about the wait, and the tables. They're no reservations here, but if you get there and get on the waiting list, they will accommodate you. It came out AMAZING!!! They allowed me to take a birthday cake, balloons, sing happy birthday, and the food was delicious. Their plates cost from $15 to $30, but you can split one between two people. The food is delicious. Soups, salads, steak, fish, shrimp, chicken, natural juices, cold beer, they got it! Desserts too! I recommend you try the typical Colombian plate "Bandeja Paisa" or the fried fish,"Mojarra Frita" their delicious beef stew: "Sancocho", their seafood rice "Arroz con Mariscos", or their shrimp cocktail. Share a "Picada" enough for four, that's a plate with sliced chicken, steak, plantains, potatoes, pork grinds, fries and sausage. Come with the family, come alone. Excellent customer service, good food, and great prices.I always go back again and...
