I have never written a review for a restaurant but I feel like this is a public service. I was excited seeing the place and then we sit down and they used blue body shop towels for napkins. The waiter asked my friend what she wanted to drink and walked away before me and her boyfriend could answer. We ordered the shrimp, garlic knots and mango goat cheese salad. As he was walking out with the food, I saw the garlic knots and my heart sank. When the food arrived flies swarmed our table and we eventually swatted them away, we were seated on the terrace. The mango salad was a handful of spring mix in the middle with mandolin slices of mango that had a brownish color with a fried nugget of goat cheese in the middle and balsamic drizzle. I have never seen fried goat cheese in a salad. When I tasted the food it tasted rotten but I didn’t want to seem ungrateful to my friend who took me out, so I gave it a chance. The garlic knots had a blue color on them and tasted rotten again. They were hard but undercooked at the same time. The shrimp looked fine but was rubbery and I couldn’t get that rotten taste out of my mouth. So I just kept drinking water which was good. Then I used the restroom. This explained everything. The door was covered in dirt on the outside and inside. It was very dirty. When I returned, I ordered a pizza because I thought with a wood fired oven they couldn’t mess that up so bad. But when it arrived it was raw except the crust and had pools of grease and two basil leaves that had brown spots. I gave it a try because I didn’t want to embarrass my friend. I couldn’t even fold the pizza in half to eat it because it just flopped down. And it tasted rotten again. I could only eat part of one piece. My friend got lobster ravioli that cooked like it was from a can. She said hers tasted off. Then they ordered dessert but I refused which I never do but couldn’t eat anything else or I was going to get sick. Her boyfriend was eating everything so I thought maybe it was just me. The crème brûlée was like pudding inside. Her chocolate cake was soggy and had old caramel on it. I tooled the pizza home bc I didn’t want to be rude. Her boyfriend asked if it was going to get busy? They said it was the “off” season. But there was a formula 1 race in town and it was a Saturday night. But this experience has taught me a lot about speaking up bc we ended up having a huge argument over it the next day and it almost ruined my trip to Miami. Dine at...
Read moreMy wife and I are locals, and we decided to go to Sagra for dinner. I was there about a year ago and the food was good. Although, I ordered vongole pizza, the clam shells were on the pizza instead of them taking the clams out. Over the past year, we have ordered from Sagra through Uber Eats at least 5 or 6 times.
We Today is 10/28/24 (about 9:00pm) and when we arrived at Sagra, there were about 6 tables, some of which were finishing and others that had their food. We were greeted by a very nice gentleman (skinny) who said we can sit where we wanted. We chose a table and sat down. There were two waiters and 1 runner. The gentleman who sat us, came by and said "Oh, did they forget about you" and brought us menus and the specials board. Our waiter (husky) came by after and offered us some water and then brought us some bread. (No butter or olive oil).
We had some questions about some items on the menu, but our waiter never came back. He never asked us if we were ready, or asked if we had questions or even asked us if we wanted a beverage. After watching our server carry a box out to the front of the restaurant (Biscayne Blvd) and do some other things, we tried to get his attention or the other server, and no one responded, or looked our way.
Finally, after sitting there for 20 to 25 minutes and basically be ignored, we got up and left. We took ourselves over to Prima Pasta on 79th street (we have been many times). We were seated outside, and within several minutes we were drinking water, put in our drink orders and had some complimentary bruschetta that was delicious.
We spent around $200.00 and well, that could have gone to Sagra. We will not be going to Sagra anymore nor will we recommend it, and its a shame! Shame on you for...
Read moreI’m leaving a 1 star not because of the food but because of the service! I visited Sagra with my friend last Saturday to enjoy a nice dinner. This was not our first time here, as always the food was 10/10 however our waiters service was horrible when it came time to pay. The waiter who served us was Nikolaus throughout our dinner he came a total of 2 times which was to greet us & take our orders that’s it. At the end we had split a check & for gratuity the options were 15,18 & 20 percent. I left 15% tip & Mr. Nikolaus was hogging over the payment device then proceeded to tell me 15% is not enough. I was honestly shocked because I’m leaving you a tip within the percentage the restaurant is advising of it’s not like the service was that exceptional so I ask my friend how much she was leaving & he had the nerve to tell me don’t ask her because this is your bill. Like sir that is none of your business what I decide to ask MY friend because you don’t know if we came up with a payment agreement or if she was leaving more tip than me because I paid for something prior like.. i was soooo upset because I have never had this happen to me at a restaurant so then I customized the tip and added more because what the heck and even after I customized the tip he tried to change it to 20%! So ai tell him no go back I picked my original 15% & signed IMMEDIATELY. After that I wanted to speak to a manager but was so upset and did not want to let HIM ruin my meal & left. Sagra this is completely unacceptable of your...
