Today I went to one of my local Colombian restaurants nearby my house that I love because their food is alway so delicious, but today I had an unpleasant experience.
My mom and I are Colombian and ever since we moved here it always been hard to find a trustworthy Colombian restaurant that offers good Colombian food, when we found this one it was amazing and so far it has lived to its expectations.
But today I went to eat their with my mom and my boyfriend who is not Colombian I wanted to take him here because I want to share my culture and especially the delicious food but we where welcomed terribly by our server who had a very rude demeanor, it all started when I ordered something new to drink off the menu which was a limonada maracumango.
When it was brought I immediately knew I was not gonna like considering it was made out of milk and not water which in the menu it wasn’t really specified. I took a sip and as I suspected it wasn’t of my liking. When the server came back I politely told her if there was any chance I could change my drink since I didn’t like it and she immediately said it was not possible with the worst tone possible cause it was pre made which, I’m not well informed with the restaurant policy but as of my experience in customer service in a restaurant usually when you don’t like something and exchange can be made especially if only one sip was taken.
After she told me that it kinda stayed in my head for a while. And when she came back I asked again to be more informed on why it couldn’t be changed, I said “so to be clear if a client doesn’t like something it can’t be changed” to which she said said “yes but it’s need to be justified” So I asked what would be something reasonable for it to be exchanged and she said if it’s broken or there is something wrong/ expired with the drink. To be honest her whole demeanor was just off and the awkward tension just grew. I then told her okey it’s fine leave it in the check but I still will want to order something different to which she said okey and then said I’ll ask the manager to see if it can be taken off.
After that we enjoyed our food which was delicious and at the end when the bill was presented she looked at me and said by the way we took off the lemonade with such a derogatory tone, to which I said thank you.
When I paid and asked for a receipt it was to my suprise that the lemonade I do not like was charged for and what they took off was the second drink I order that I did in fact drink and was priced lowered than the one that was left in the bill. On top of this my boyfriend ordered something and was brought the wrong sides to his dish which honestly wasn’t a big deal considering it was a misunderstanding but since the server was being so rude towards us it just all piled together.
Overall the food was great and my boyfriend loved it but our experience was heavily ruined by the server and the lack of customer service she provided I know she could’ve been just doing her job but instead of having a bratty attitude towards the situation she could’ve just gotten a manager from the start to de escalate...

However, I recently purchased an egg soup which had melted styrofoam inside!!. There was no Manager or Owner available to offer any apologies or find a solution to the problem and avoid exposing future customers to CANCER CAUSING AGENTS. Therefore I was left with no choice but to write this review and file a report with the FTC and the FDA. I would advise anyone who has ordered from this restaurant to be weary of their hazardous and unsafe practices which can have health consequences in the future and to those who are thinking of purchasing anything from this restaurant to be aware, that any issues with the food or service will never have a Manager or Owner to save face. He or she is a coward who leaves his workers without a manager and have no idea how to resolve customer related issues. This is not the first time I have had issues with this restaurant. I have attached the photos of this atrocious and unsafe food practices. Notice there was no water added to this egg soup as the owner claims and the arepa side is intact in the aluminum foil. When I ate one of the eggs I discovered the melted styrofoam to my horror and throw it up!! I was not rude or impolite in any way, I was honest and direct and courteous. If the owner and his staff thought this was yelling then they should get into another line of work. Lastly the owner has suggested I microwaved the food but the plastic top is brand new and intact and I returned the product only minutes after purchasing it! Also he claimed I added water to the egg soup, but in the picture you can clearly see it is not watered down. If that was my restaraunt I too would think my products are watered down based on the poor quality.

Throughout the meal, their attentiveness and knowledge of the menu were evident. They provided helpful recommendations and answered all of my questions with enthusiasm and expertise. In addition to her exceptional service, her positive and upbeat attitude created a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. Her smile was contagious, and it was evident that she took pride in her work.
