Dinner with a side of New York flair. While they advertise pizza that rivals NY, so does the personalities of the owner and staff. This is a definite solid choice for freshly made food and a stick to it classic menu.
Their take out seems to be their bread and butter (or shall I say their garlic bread and butter) but don’t miss the chance to dine and chat with the owner or staff. A simple yet unassuming interior, it provides the basics and plenty of seating. I’d give the food a solid 4, service a 5, and ambiance a 3.5.
Food: our party of 3 tried a few things. Minestrone was light with good flavor, salad was chopped up nicely with a delightful red wine vinegar based dressing. The eggplant rollatini was a bit heavy on the breading and filling but was good overall. Chicken Marsala was a huge portion and decent flavor. A nice amount of mushrooms too! I wish the pasta was served on the side with red sauce. The Chicken Valdostana was a unique dish, totally into the breaded eggplant on top and use of yellow bell peppers. There was something about it that didn’t make me love it fully. However . The show stopper - the garlic rolls! Come here just for them hah.
Thank you for taking such great care of us! We will be back for more NY...
Read moreThe worst pizza that I have ever tasted. I don't know if the sauce, cheese, or dough was spoiled, but it was horrible pizza.
The next phase of my Setti's pizza experience is where it really gets intetesting. I saved and returned the pizza. I entered the store 10 minutes after it opened on Sunday, October 22nd 2017. It appeared that the dozen, or so people who were there appeared to be family much like their Google photo depicted.
I put the pizza on the counter and explained my dissatisfaction with the pizza. I saw all new faces, as this business was Mambos just a couple of weeks ago. I asked if this was under new ownership. The man told me that it was and proceeded to lambbaste me with all of the reasons that there was nothing wrong with the pizza and that I just like complaining.
I asked if he was going to refund my money or not. He threw the pizza box like a frisbee, took $18 out of his pocket and told me to buy Digiornos. I was walking out when one of the male apparent family member's said: "You're a jackass, the pizza is good here." This place will not be in business long.
Oh, I forgot to mention. This all happened in front of my 11 year...
Read moreBeen coming here for years and love the food. The real problem is the service. Almost never open when they're supposed to be. Hours of operation were updated on here 8 weeks ago saying that they're open by 11 am; It's almost 2 pm now and the place is completely empty. I ordered a pie online through toast and the place took my money and confirmed the order. Now I show up and nobody is here. How am I supposed to get my refund now? Honestly, the pizza is great but I don't understand how they run this operation. I've ordered online before when no one picked up the phone and show up to see my pie ready. How can no one answer the phone to take my order then? I prefer to support smaller, non-chain restaurants but how can I support this when I'm not given the smallest bit of courtesy? It's shameful and I am beyond disappointed. Now instead of eating, I have to spend my break time waiting for the Vietnamese place to make my food and figuring out how to get a refund from this place. I will not be coming back. This has been a consistent issue for years and I'm just finished at this point. Absolutely senseless...
