Place is good customer service is really good however my only complaint is that usually they get really busy right? But there’s only one person so it’s hard to get everyone or see everyone else who comes in as well since it’s a fairly big kava bar. Sometimes since they get busy you could be waiting 10-20 mins to cash out which isn’t the tenders fault cuz no one has superpowers except me, but I think at least two ppl should be working nights since that’s when it gets busiest. But besides that the kava is usually good, tastes nasty but effectively it’s good for most part, it’s not that it tastes nasty it’s just that it doesn’t taste pleasant like I’m drinking liquid concrete, first time I tried kava I was like oh it’s not that bad it’s just earthy but now I been drinking kava almost everyday for years and it’s not an “acquired taste” it’s actually gotten harder to drink, I can’t ever drink it without a chaser anymore, I have to have juice and some sort of fruit now I can’t get used to the taste despite being a daily drinker. Sometimes I feel like when you see wet cement? That’s how I feel like when drinking kava like I just drank wet cement, sometimes I throw it up not even throw up it’s literally just kava when my body is like nope too much buddy. But yeah place is good clean bathrooms are clean some kava bars have a ratchet weird metaphysical vibe with weird ppl but the crowd here is cleaner and they keep it well kept, my only complaint is the crowd control for the lack of ppl working for most part. They have good treats too, good fries, good baked goods, I wish they one days will add a full blown menu though, like burgers and stuff maybe lamb chops, maybe some fried fish like snook, cuz it’s got a better outlook than other kava bars. The hideout is weird their product is good but I’d never go poopoo in the hideouts bathroom, chill room...
Read moreI started frequenting here around 6 months ago from a friends suggestion, and I have to say, this is one of the most well run family owned businesses I’ve ever seen. I personally had 0 Kava or Kratom knowledge prior to going, so the bartenders had to walk me through some of the menu items at first. It can seem a bit intimidating, but you’ll get the hang of it quickly once you order a few drinks.
Every Wednesday, the Chill Room hosts a karaoke night, where people can sign up to perform on stage. This usually draws a large crowd, and a TON of insane vocal talent.
There’s also a pool table, which provides a great visual centerpiece for the room, as well as a fun activity. However, the one suggestion I’d make would be to invest in a higher quality pool table, as the one that’s currently set up has some table sinking issues on one of the corner pockets, which can make games frustrating to play at times for everyone involved. Nothing too fancy or crazy, but a slightly larger one that’s balanced correctly would be perfect - and it would make the regulars enjoy their time at the chill room that much more.
Management isn’t afraid to make changes if necessary to improve the experience of staff and customers (unlike large corporations) And there doesn’t seem to be the stereotypical stinginess or “click” you’ll sometimes find with your run-of-the-mill family owned business.
The owners of this place are the type to shake your hand and smile when you walk in, whether you’re a seasoned veteran or checking the chill room out for the very first time. This makes trying out any new spot that much more inviting, and I’d wager you wouldn’t regret the...
Read moreI don't know that the Chill Room is a hidden gem, because it was pretty crowded on a Sunday night. That happens to be their Poker night, so it makes complete sense. However, I think the staff, service, food, ambience, and kava are what make this place exceptional. I had been to a couple kava bars but Colton did an outstanding job of explaining the differences between the Kava and Kratom and the effects. He even did a do-over when my guest finally arrived. With such insightful guidance, I went with his recommendation of the double dragon, choosing the green tea and a shot of kava. Colton may have okay taste in English football, amazing taste in Italian football, but his choices in drinks are unparalleled. The drink was delicious, not too sweet, and perfectly balanced. If I'm being honest, this was the first time I actually felt the effects of kava. Outside, of Colton, the vibes are inviting and intimate, but not exclusive. The decor and music create a very relaxing atmosphere, which is conducive to the experience. There's a pool table and game room, a stage area, and a bar, in addition to all the couches and seats around. I didn't have any if the food this time, but they have lovely cakes and pastries, as well a pizzas and bar food. If the food is as well crafted as the rest of the place, I'll definitely be eating here next time. It's a bit of a journey for me, but the experience is well worth it. Will try to see what bands perform there and try to catch one that I like. If you're looking for a place to relax and have a great time, the Chill Room OG location is the...
