I had a curbside pickup and when I check it. I get called and told to go to the drive thru to get my food. It wasn’t raining anymore, so there wasn’t any need for me to wait in another line. But I did. When I get to the window I get my food and as I was checking it there were only three sauce packets. So I wanted more. The drive thru cashier then goes a gets Tiffany who was the one who called and told me to go to the drive thru. Tiffany proceeds to tell us that she can do three more packets and any other amount would cost $0.10 each. That’s never been a thing. I’ve been going there over 20 years and it’s never been a thing. When we point it out she said that they had a business to run and that Zaxby’s does the same thing. She proceeds to close the window and half way closed she proceeds to call us rude. There was nothing rude about what we were asking or saying. There was no foul language, or anything derogatory. But here’s my problem with the Zaxby’s comparison. They advertise that any extra packet has an up charge. But you don’t. There is nothing online or on your menu that states there’s an up charge. That’s a bit suspicious. Do you add that to the money you make at the end of the day or do you pocket it? And Josh we know you aren’t going to do anything. As a manager it’s YOUR job to manage your team. So think of this as a learning opportunity: have the up charge advertised and teach your team to not call people names until after the...
Read moreToday, I visited this location for lunch.
I gave 4 stars for the food. Though the baby back ribs were pretty tasty, they were a bit tough on the outside. My sweet potato, ribs, and beans were a bit cold. Other than that, everything seems to be pretty alright.
I gave 2 stars for the service I received. I arrived at 12:30 p.m. and sat for quite some time before I was addressed by a waitress. As you can see, my order was put into the system at about 12:52pm. My waitress was training another employee, so I stacked it up to that, and it also appeared to be a lunch rush. One can guess I sat for about 20 minutes before someone came to take my drink order where I gave both drink and food order at the same time.
My food was brought out by the Expo. I appreciate her bringing it out to me. I know expos have a tendency to run food so it doesn't die in the window. That could have been the reason why my food was cold and the outside of my ribs tough, probably sat there for a bit. For the price, I guess I couldn't really fuss. Besides that, I was hungry anyway.
I gave the atmosphere 5 stars. I have hit a number of Sonny's in numerous locations, and they all seem to be pretty consistent when it comes to the atmosphere.
This experience will not hinder me from going to another Sonny's. Good affordable BBQ is...
Read moreTheir bbq is delicious enough. It is when I ordered the food to go in several different occasions including my son’s wedding reception this year in May, also had problem. I have ordered 10lbs. of lean brisket trimmed, thinly sliced separated in four aluminum trays to serve. The first three trays were good but the fourth tray was no good—big chunks of blackened fat which I think was the end of the briskets. About two pounds were not edible. We could not serve that tray. The baby back rips were over cooked and fell apart before I could slice to serve. Make sure to check your orders before you leave the store especially underside of the order for it always have the food you cannot eat hidden on the bottom. Each time I ordered the food to go, I tell them trimmed lean meat, sliced thin. And there is always a big black fat chunk with the order that I do not want and could not eat. Now, my most recent order two days ago, as always ordered two pounds of trimmed, lean meat, thinly sliced. What it looked lean meat, when I got home to eat, it was not lean mean at all with about 1/4 portion was big fat pieces at the bottom. I am done with Sonny’s. I have given them many chances on my part to get the orders correctly. I will take my once or twice a week dinner orders somewhere...
