I used to love sonny’s and this location in specific because I’ve been coming to this location ever since I was a child. As a family we don’t get to spend much time together so we decided sonny’s sounded good so we drove around 25 minutes to get to the restaurant and this is where things go wrong. As soon as we stepped foot into the door we got looked at but completely ignored in other regards. No one said welcome in, no one said we’ll be right with you. NOTHING. It’s ridiculous especially when i’ve been working in food service ever since i’ve started working and i know well enough that good customer service comes with acknowledging customers that walk in the door immediately so they feel welcome. My family waited there for 10 minutes with no employees paying attention to us besides a pregnant server looking at us yet not saying a single word. At one point during the 10 minutes of waiting, a server walked up to the host stand to grab an extra kids menu but still looked at us yet said nothing. Read moreI ordered online 2 steak burger combos. I went and picked up the order got to the car and opened and the burgers where just meat and a bun. No condiments no lettuce no nothing! Nothing on the side nothing in the bag. I went back in and asked if I had done something wrong when I ordered because I haven’t ordered online before. This is with the COVID-19 going on. But there wasn’t any place to add anything to or remove from the sandwich. So I asked the lady and she said that’s how they come!! I said with nothing on it ?? And she said yes that way the burger doesn’t get soggy. So then I tell her that no I mean there’s NOTHING in the bag nothing anywhere. I completely understand not putting it on the sandwich as it would be soggy and nasty. So she seemed like she didn’t understand what I was saying. So she asked what do I need and I told her I needed everything to go on a burger all of the condiments. Well she brings me a bag and by this time I was kinda of mad and didn’t want to make a big deal. So long story short I open the bag of condiments she gave me and it’s MUSTARD AND KETCHUP!! That’s it! Read moreWe pulled in off I-95 for an early dinner. It had been raining and we dashed inside to get out of the weather. We noticed only one table had customers and only one employee in sight, a woman behind the takeout window. A hostess podium was unattended. The woman behind the window was extremely busy with something and never looked up to see us. We waited at the podium. After 5 minutes, we checked our phones for other places to eat. The weather was bad and we continued to wait. After 10 mins, I went in the back and found someone who apologized and finally seated us. From our table, we observed our same unwelcoming experience in the entryway repeated by parties that walked in after us. We ordered sandwiches that were delivered with the bread switched. The one that was supposed to be on a bun was on garlic toast and visa versa. We switched it back to what we ordered ourselves. The redeeming quality of all this was that the BBQ was excellent, which is why we picked Sonny's to begin with. We always stop at Sonny's when we travel and will continue doing so.
