There was a cockroach that showed up at my table. I walked to the waitress, an older woman working around midnight 4/13 to 4/14 after midnight, and walked her over to look at the cockroach. She said "ok" and walked away and just went working other tables like nothing happened. I was very calm about the whole thing, but stood looking at the roach in disbelief for some time. Finally I went to get the manager. What he said was troublesome.
Alfonso is how I would guess you spell his name. He was a black male, manager there. I showed it to him and he came with a paper towel and the bug jumped on the ground and he killed it. He was walking away saying nothing and I said "this makes me feel very uneasy, I wish I didn't just eat here." It was the honest truth, not angry or hateful. Alfonzo didn't say sorry or anything ever at any point in the conversation. He said "you act like you ain't ever seen a bug before." I said "so you're telling me this is normal? That's just the way it is. Sometimes there's cockroaches?" He tried to argue with me about saying cockroaches when there was only one. I said, "Where there is one there are more. It was at my table." He argued with me saying it was on the seat and not the table. I told him it could have crawled on myself or my guest or anyone. He said what do you want, your meal comped or something? I said I appreciate that offer but more than that how about something to be done to make sure this doesn't happen to someone else, there's no sorry or anything? He said they get cleanings. He didn't plan to do anything. I said obviously something else needs to be done. This is a huge sign. How are you going to have a cockroach out crawling on customers. Is that supposed to happen? Obviously something needs to be stepped up or changed. He said he would mention it to the cleaning guy.
I doubt he will. Why did I have to argue for something to be changed? Never apologized for anything. Argued with me over technical words. Acted like there was no problem with a roach showing up. Like I was causing a problem for pointing it out. I don't want to eat here ever again. I'd advise others to stay away. They got roaches and act like...
Read moreWent to steak 'n Shake tonight at 6:30 at page field commons. After being served drinks a roach crawled across the wall beside our tables. I went to the manager and complained and his response to me was "we have the place sprayed every two weeks". He then returned to his duties in the back of the restaurant. We took it upon ourselves to move to three tables in the center of the restaurant. Two of the tables were clean but the third one was very dirty. I was not able to sit at that table and so I moved aside and the five of us crowded around two tables. I pointed out to the waitress the dirty table and she had no response. Finally our food was brought after 40 minutes of waiting. The restaurant was not even busy. I don't know what took so long. Darien, Elisa, and Mark all got a side of chili with their burgers. Mark and eLisa were served regular soup spoons. Darien was served a 10 inch red plastic ice cream soda spoon. Finally the burgers arrived with cold fries. If I had not been Darien's birthday celebration we would've left. But I did not wanna upset him by making a scene. As we exited I looked then to see if the manager was possibly going to make a personal visit to us and he did not. There were no comments no apologies no concessions made. Near the front of the restaurant were two gentlemen who were being served very large bowls of chili. They were also being served with a 10 inch red plastic spoon to eat their chili. The waitress committed to them sorry about the spoons but we ran out of silverware. Their comment back was it'll take us an hour to eat this chili with a spoon. Again nothing was done. Apparently nobody was doing any dishes tonight Do not visit this restaurant itis horribly missed managed and filthy obviously both on the surface and behind the scenes. I feel sick to my stomach. We had a roach crawling up the wall. We had dirty tables we had no clean silverware we had an order that was mixed up totally and I am...
