Strachan's Ice Cream & Desserts - Palm Harbor — Restaurant in Florida

Went here on a Saturday evening (drove from Holiday) the place was very busy but the line went quick and ice cream was good. A little pricey but good. I am giving this 2 stars and lengthy review due to customer service. Gavin either was not having a good day or does not like where he works. He made me feel like my son and I were inconveniencing him each time time I said anything. The entire process just felt rushed and that we seem to be annoying him which made me not even want to continue with my order but we had already waited in line and my son was excited. At the end he said $16.30 but didn’t even swivel the iPad over for a tip but it’s likely he knew he didn’t do anything to earn one. My 8 year old tried to be nice and talk with Gavin and he brushed him off, which I was going to pass on writing a review until that happened. It’s a shame because it’s one of the few times my son has ever been to a real ice cream shop so the experience should have been different. Busy or not, good customer service keeps the customers coming back and the other employees who were just as busy seemed to be more welcoming and friendly but unfortunately his demeanor was so unwelcoming we won’t be returning. If I wanted to feel like an inconvenience, have eyes rolled at me, rushed to order, and have nothing be said to me except the total I could have went to McDonalds and gotten...

Strachan's ice cream is AMAZING and SO DELICIOUS! My hubby and I are SO happy it is nearly the Christmas Season because we have been talking about their SCRUMPTIOUS Peppermint Oreo Ice cream FOR 11 MONTHS! WE CAN'T WAIT FOR THEM TO CARRY IT AGAIN. We also LOVE their DELICIOUS Pumpkin Custard Ice cream with actual pieces of Pumpkin Bread in it! It is NOT at all artificial tasting and UNLIKE ANY OTHER PUMPKIN ICE CREAM WE HAVE EVER TASTED! In fact, ALL of their flavors taste SO unique and VERY homemade. You can definitely taste the difference in quality & the attention and care they put into their delicious creations. We actually make it a whole date night just to come to Strachan's for ice cream and then sit outside and talk. This time together is so nice, because we find our world "slows down" for just a bit while we enjoy our ice cream. At Christmas time, we often go out to look at Christmas Lights and then have an ice cream treat at Strachan's before we go home. This truly makes for a wonderful evening. I've been riding my motorcycle by this place for years now and I finally decided to take my girlfriend here for her birthday and this little effeminine gentleman if you want to call it that takes my girlfriend's order of a hot fudge brownies Sundae and as she is choosing what kind of ice cream she wants it comes back and plops a vanilla brownie sundae in front of her and she said "I don't want vanilla" and he said well it normally comes with vanilla" it then looked at me and said (still very rude by the way ) what can I get for you sir and I said 'wait a minute she's not done with her order she doesn't want vanilla" and it said "well it comes with vanilla" with a snarl on it's face. we walked out of that place I'll never be coming back here again and I will never say say a nice thing about this place to anyone...
