It pains me to have to get on here and write a bad review for Suki Hanna. I’ve been coming here for years and it’s literally my go too sushi spot just Bc you can’t beat the quality for the price.
My experience today was just rancid. We arrived around 8:15 to be seated. They were slam packed, which is pretty normal for the time on a Friday night. However this was the first time we experienced bad service. The server was definitely a new face we go so often we remember/recognize servers. She seemed lost and confused when I asked if I was able order from the entree menu while my friend did the all you can eat? Which was a first for me.. anyways we ordered a couple of rolls. Three to be exact. We waited around 25-30 minutes when finally she brought the plate of three rolls we ordered and we could visibly see that sushi has been seating! The salmon nigiri looked dry and my friend decided to not eat it due to risk of getting sick. My spicy tuna roll was dry on the outside as soon as I ate it. We finished and put in an order for another three-four rolls. Mind you at this point the table around us were people coming and going. Ppl ordering a ton of rolls, they were getting their dishes no problem. We waited an additional 25 minutes. We asked our server to bring us a calamari sauce and she proceeded to bring me teriyaki sauce? I was extremely upset at this point as we were still waiting for 3 rolls we had put in while others were still receiving their big orders. We didn’t even get offered another Saki? At which point we had been there over an hour and decided to take the check and leave. This was the upsetting point bc the server than proceeded to point to the sushi bar and say the sushi was there waiting? So why didn’t she bring it ????? She awkwardly goes get the plate instead of the check and offers the plate after we had asked to leave. My friend took the tab and paid and didn’t have the heart to not leave a tip after the poor service. Oddly enough this was the fastest the server came to the table, to pick up her tip…. Her name is Lynn, do not get her !!! Ask for a different server, they still charged an all you can eat even tho we didn’t have that experience. Be careful y’all, even after I complained they did not offer anything for compensation or a way to make it...
Read moreArrived 6:50 Saturday night and told it's 1.3h wait, ok well we drove at least an hour for this so we just roamed around the other nearby stores. Received a text just short of 8P and notified our table is ready and we need to arrive within 5min or forfeit our table. Good thing we had just headed out of Publix and were then seated right away.
Service was good, waters were topped off and we were kept in the know and updated about our food. Everything seemed fresh and was delicious but for future reference to prepare my finite tummy space:
Miso Soup 5/5 PERFECT, warming, soothing deliciousness! Shrimp tempura 5/5 huge shrimp & so delicious! Seaweed salad 5/5 Yummy! Edamame 5/5 PERFECT sweetness with faint salt to bring out flavor but not salty! Krab tempura 4/5 it's good but it's also krab, it is what it is! Veggie tempura 5/5 delicious! Includes sweet potato, maybe eggplant or similar squash-like slices, & broccoli (didn't try) Gyoza 4/5 SO crispy! Delicious but the filling could use more dimensional flavoring, maybe scallion +/- ginger Yellowtail Nigiri 4/5 delicious but sometimes pieces had little blood veins that made it not as appealing Salmon Sashimi 5/5 fresh tasting, delicious Escolar sashimi 3/5 not much taste so I focus too much on texture almost reminds me of fat so didn't care for it Tiger roll 4/5 delicious cream cheese mix Crazy salmon 4/5 classic spicy salmon with actual salmon pieces and not mush of a mess Hardrock roll 4/5 delicious crunch and cream cheese flavor Suki Hanna roll 2/5 not bad, just kind of boring. Was interested in trying the unique wrapping Godzilla roll 2/5 too much eel sauce and friedness for my liking Black dragon roll 2/5 too much eel/eel sauce is overpowering to me
WE ORDERED WAY TOO MUCH! I forced myself to eat more than I would as to avoid wasting food but also the $1/roll fee.. I was busting at the seams and we were pretty much done but were shown mercy for just a few pieces. TIP: order a bit at a time and with experience you can fine tune and order to precision, but TO START and avoid overordering don't allow your eyes a bigger appetite...
Read moreAccurately i'd give this place just a tad less than 4 stars and the reasons are as follows. We stopped in for lunch for the all you can eat option. The place is nice and clean, service was very quick and attentive. We ordered 7 rolls, assorted nagiri/sashimi and appetizers. While the rolls were made very well, they were nearly just a variation of the same ingredients. I think nothing really stood out for me in terms of taste and originality. And when you look to order more, you will see almost the same roll, just done 20 different ways. Maybe i'm exaggerating just a bit, but you get the gist. Different textures (ie fried rolls/tempura), whether fried or not, were the only main differences for me. The sashimi/nigiri was fresh. Nigiri and rolls had a reasonable fish to rice ratio and nothing fell apart (bonus for me). Again, i feel they were nicely done. Now the kitchen items were the greatest disappointment. Miso soup was overly salty, sui mai was OK but takoyaki tasted as if it was thawed right out of a bag. They were two mishapen flatish balls of squidgy whatever. . Dont get that. Just dont. I was so sad because i love takoyaki. Octopus salad was very tasty but a bit too sweet than it needed to be (i would get this again). House salad was good and a very decent portion. Salmon was good! I would spare room in my belly for it again. And the cheese cake is literally a slice of cheese cake fried with a cornstarch coating (i think). It was good. I'd say the best thing here was the fresh tasting sashimi. Load it up!! Again, the rolls were done well, but the variety in ingredients was lacking for me. All the rolls we tried kinda tasted the same besides the Suki Hana, which was one of the few that had whitefish. With all that being said, i would come here again to try the other offerings. Don't forget, the more people in your party, the more different sushi you can try. Good place to bring friends and family, but def not a high-class place or impressive enough to...
