I have only eaten from here once and I will never do it again nor would I recommend anyone else. I ordered the Calamari, the Baby Octopus, Florida Roll, and a Eel and cucumber roll. I did order from Postmates and have considered drive time and storage. The driver was fabulous and put the cold food in a cooler and the calamari in a insulated box. The driver took about 15 minutes after pickup and Sushi Hana took 25 minutes to prepare (all normal!). However when the food arrived the first thing I tried was the Calamari, which did not come with marinara, or cocktail sauce, or even a lemon. It was tough and felt like rubber, clearly over cooked. I could’ve overlooked this if the rest of the order was good, however it didn’t get better. I have had Baby Octopus many times before from other places, and never has a restaurant managed to overcook them so much that they were as tough as a dogs chew toy. I didn’t even finish the one I bit into. I thought their saving grace would be the sushi rolls that is their namesake and figured they would make up for their shortcomings here. Wrong. The Florida roll has tuna and salmon or yellowfin I believe with cream cheese and roe. This was at room temperature even though it was in a cooler. The cream cheese was warm enough that is had started to ooze out of the sushi roll and the rest of the pieces were sitting in a puddle of liquid cream cheese. The Eel and Cucumber roll was room temperature (as it is normally served) and was the only thing edible in the entire meal. I called Sushi Hana and explained my grievances and asked how this could have happened. She blamed the driver of Postmates and tried to explain to me that both Sushi Rolls were meant to be room temperature, even the raw salmon and yellowfin. This is not my first rodeo with sushi, I crave it literally every second of every day but I could never recommend a restaurant to anyone that has no problem serving you raw food in a temperature danger zone and try and back up that statement. Raw food should never be consumed at room temperature unless it is still moving. This restaurant could kill someone!
TLDR: Food was awful, sushi served improperly in a manner that could...
Read moreSeverely disappointed. Mostly in customer service. Called for a partial refund on bad food for a pick up order and they wouldn’t do anything, even offer me credit.
I’ve been coming here for 5 years and I know how this places’s hibachi tastes on a good and a bad day, I take this place as it’s best and worst. Today was a bad day. I’ve had a couple bad days of their food recently so after today’s rice and sushi was exceptionally bad I decided to call for a partial refund. I ordered the chicken hibachi and the salmon and avocado roll. Hibachi was good as always but the rice that comes with it was very bad. To be honest it’s been getting worse lately. When it’s a good day it’s very good rice but today it was very bad. Not only that but the sushi was also not good, usually it is. So I called asking for a partial refund. I was told that I would have to bring the food back. I said my wife and I had ate half of the sushi and none of the rice so we can bring it back. I was then told they have nothing but the best salmon that is always fresh. I agreed. I said normally it is, however today it was not. Asking again for a partial refund, they said they can not do that even if I brought the food back. So, they were going to give me a refund if I brought it back but then decided against it and just tell me they “cant refund me.”
If you don’t mind risking it then by all means order from them. But personally paying this much for food I would rather not risk it. And I won’t be anymore. At the very least they could have offered me credit for my next meal which he at one point offered and then quickly withdrew. I was nothing but nice on the phone because why would I be rude when I come here all the time and I wanted to continue to do so. Again very disappointed but they lost a loyal...
Read moreThere was an incongruence with my order for delivery. I ordered an 8 peice Yellow Tail Roll. The roll in the picture of their menu had a large piece of yellow tail draped over each roll, topped with a jalapeño and red garnish. I received a 6 piece version of what looked like a mangled version of a spicy tuna roll, but orange. Both sides of the roll were doused with greasy orange crumbs of some sort (far from a mistaken tempora). The roll looked like it was left out on the counter all day and tasted like it too. There was a pea-sized piece of white fish superficially placed in the center of the roll. I also ordered a Ginger Chicken entree that I received cold, it was mostly just bell pepper, onions and some ginger for $17.95. I paid an extra $3.00 for fried rice. It was just rice covered in grease with one or two striations of egg. Tasted like plastic and not pan fried. It was regular boiled rice with grease as a sauce. I received a side salad that looked like someone took a fist-full of lettuce from a bag, tossed in a half of an unwashed cucumber slice and threw it in my take out box. I called the restaurant and was met with an aggressive staff member; speaking over me, fighting with me, invalidating my concerns and laughing at me, ultimately blaming the delivery company. This is the type of restaurant that wants fast cash, not lasting customers. The food made me feel sick almost immediately-delivery time was 30-35 minutes from prepping the food to delivery at my house. They clearly do not have concern for the health and well-being of their customers, nor do they have respect for their business. Lacks integrity to the highest degree. I spent about $40 to be laughed at, argued with and to...
