Had dinner with my wife and toddler. After being seated, we asked for a kids menu and were told “we don’t have one yet”. Totally fine. Asked what the options were and Mac and cheese was mentioned. I asked the waitress if it was like an Alfredo style sauce (since it’s an Italian restaurant) and she said yes. She came back a few minutes after we ordered it and said it’ll be an up-charge for Alfredo sauce. It was strange but at that point we just wanted to get the meal in so we agreed.
After what seemed to be a while of waiting to order the adult entrees (there was only one waitress for the entire restaurant), I tried to get one of the Marsala penne dishes but asked if I could sub the meat that came in it, for chicken. I was told I could, but that it would be a $7 up-charge. I ended up getting eggplant rollatini instead. It unfortunately wasn’t anything great. The ricotta filling was almost non existent along with the eggplant; there was more mozzarella and breading on the plate, than anything else.
My wife ordered the grandmas pizza and asked if they could add some pesto on it after it’s done cooking. The waitress said that was fine. Overall the pizza was ok. The sauce was a little more acidic for my taste but I did enjoy the crust.
After going to pay the bill, I noticed I was charged $21 for my small pizza, vs the $18 listed price. I asked why I was charged more and the waitress first said it was for adding pepperoni. I told her I didn’t add pepperoni, then she said it was the pesto up-charge. Had I known a minuscule amount of pesto was going to be $3 I honestly wouldn’t have ordered it. $70 later for 2 entrees, a kids meal and a coke, we left feeling really disappointed.
One waitress on a Friday night seems strange, the up charge for everything was frustrating and the food was average or maybe a...
Read moreYou could probably cut costs on the stromboli a bit if you didn't also include so much raw dough (2.3oz and that's not counting what I had already eaten before I noticed the yeasty taste over the similarly undercooked onion I added, which was about half way through, overall.)
Yes, this is dough. NO, this is not cheese. And yep, it's every bit as gross as it looks.
We love your resteraunt's and food, we eat with you at least once a month if not more (Grandma's pizza is the bomb) but this was the first and last time I'll ever order the stromboli.
Really disappointing it was bad enough to leave this review. For the price ($13.99+2+2) y'all shouldn't be making amature FUBAR mistakes like over rolling the dough and hiding all the overlap by folding/rolling it under at either end. There was probably 2.5-3oz of plain dough on either end, which is really ridiculous considering there was probably only ~8-9oz of dough to start with (if I had to guess.)
Those huge dough balls simply cannot cook through by the time the rest is done, especially because over rolling it also makes the middle layer thinner than your thin crust, and cook extra fast.
The rest of the things we've had from you here, and at the sarasota location, have been mostly worth the premium, but not so much this time.
As it is, your stromboli was borderline inedible, and IMO food like that does your entire menu a disservice. Nobody wants to feel gross from a bunch of uncooked yeast dough expanding and off gassing CO2 in their guts.
We want to see you succeed at this location, so from the bottom of my heart, PLEASE do MUCH better, or just take it off the menu if you can't get it...
Read moreWe arrived at 4:30 on Friday the 8th of November 2024.. We were greeted by Precious and she was a delight to talk to. I ordered my Stella and wife got a Sprite. At this time we were the only customers. I ordered the Carne on thin crust and wife ordered the White sauce pizza with Arugula on thin crust. They have a window for outside pick up which was cool. We received bread and it was warm and very delicious. Two women came in and asked them if they were regulars here and they said they try to be. They said they love Vacci’s pizza. Our pizzas arrived very hot and looked great. I cut a piece and when I held it to see if it was soggy from too much grease from the meats it was firm. The first bite was not a disappointment at all. The cheese was fresh and stringy, it was great. The sauce was light and had great taste and it wasn’t too sweet. The meats were fresh tasting with great flavor. The crust had nice bubbles that had a nice char on it. Even as I got to my 4th piece the crust was still nice and firm. My wife said here pizza was fantastic. I rate every pizza to the best pizza made and that’s at Moose’s Tooth Pizza in Anchorage Alaska. Again my standard is set high and Vacci did not disappoint me at all. This place has fantastic pizza and Precious was great. They had a lot of orders to go starting around 5pm. More people arrived and they looked happy. Now the real question is will we go back? Hell yes, this place holds it’s on for a great pizza. We spent $64 on 2 pizzas with a beer and a drink. Precious did a great job. Tell Precious hi from The Alaskans. This is a...
