Thai Hot — Restaurant in Florida

The food is excellent here. Truly everything we have tried has been delicious. That is where the good review ends. What takes away from this, however, is the service. Whenever we have dined in, the service is very slow and the ONLY server they have is often unfriendly and appears disappointed to be bothered with people. Occasionally there is a smile - most reliably when the check is delivered. This server is also responsible for takeout orders. Because table service isn't the most enjoyable, we switched to takeout. And this is where things really tank. 9 out of 10 times we've ordered takeout, we are told 20/30/40 minutes. And every time we show up at the specified time, our order is not only not ready - it hasn't even been started. The server will call out our name to the cook, and we wait another 10+ minutes for our order. Last week, we called in an order - were told 40 minutes - and waited an additional 25 minutes UNACKNOWLEDGED. No one who walked through the door during that time was greeted, and a seated table sat the full 25 minutes without even being offered drinks. They have great food and a nice space. We hope they hire extra help, especially on the busy takeout nights. It's too much for one person - which is likely the reason for the unfriendliness. We really love the food and want to continue to give them our business. But they need to take better care of...

My regular Thai restaurant is closed until November so I decided to give Thai Hot another chance . I went when they were open a few months . Both food and service were horrible .

Glad I waited to write a review because they have come full circle . Service and food was excellent. I ordered Pad Thai Chicken and fresh rolls. The Pas Thai was cooked perfect and a huge take out portion . The fresh rolls? Im going to give a 3 star Im a stickler for " fresh" rolls. Not sure what it is but only found a few restaurants nearby to get it right. Thai Hot fell short. These were wet and gummy and so loosely rolled , one bite and all the contents fell out and I was left with gooey rice paper wrap to dip in the peanut sauce ( which I saw the lady ladle out of a crock pot) It was nice to have a warm sauce to dip in. Flavor was great.

This was my third visit and I brought two longtime friends along after telling them how good the food was. The service was somewhat slow on my first visit. It was slower on my second. Tonight it was abominable. We were there 55 minutes before the first food was delivered... and it was the main dish, not the appetizers my friends ordered. One friend ordered a dish and specified mild. It came and was closer to Thai hot. It had to be replaced. Then the appetizer came... only one of them. After reminding the server, the second came later. Meanwhile, people there for takeout were waiting forever. Absolute disaster. We got a mumbled apology. So, you figure with so much that had gone wrong... the restaurant would comp something... an appetizer. My beer. Nope. Charged for everything. Now THAT'S sterling customer service. With Star Thai and Sushi and Paya Thai Curry in the neighborhood... there's no way I'll ever return...
