The Angler's Club is a private dining experience. One that you will not soon forget. The ambience has the feel of a private family lodge. The staff feels more like family, and is as inviting as they are inventive. I really appreciated the team feel here. There was no "hierarchy." It was all hands on deck as the manager and our appointed table host were equally engaging. They went out of their way to make you feel special. Even the chef attended our table to hear our feedback. Probably due to the fact he must have a great deal of confidence in his obvious skill-set. So let me tell you about the food. We had a seared venison that was out of this world. No gamy flavor even though served medium rare. It was beyond impressive! Then we had coffee ground crusted bison. OMG, just wow! If you've seen my reviews before, you'll know that I'm rarely at a loss for words. The swordfish steak was also beyond delicious. There is no way that I can verbally convey how awesome this meal was overall. Hopefully my pictures can tell the story until you can get there to try it for yourself. We ended the evening with a tableside flambéed bananas foster. This was cooked up right in front of us by our server/table...
Read moreYou will need to be a member or accompany a member to dine her. So I will begin with "their claim" it is an exclusive retreat." Being a guest in this area I can say this place is the least crowded of ALL the regional restaurants we have been in. We were there on a Sunday evening. There were 3 tables with approx 16 total with 2 at the bar. That's amazing. Now for the food: Reading rhe reviews I had great expectations. It was was good but there were some faux pas. I had crab cake apps and the soup di jour. It was good but the crab cakes were not too flavorful. Hubby got the KC strip. Outer edges were a bit chewy but steak was done as ordered. Others enjoyed their meals of Salmon and the bison bolognese papperadelle. The prices were steep and I don't believe the food was worth the cost. The fact that it's a "club" is their justification for their pricing? If you want a relaxed atmosphere with great background music(Joe Hand)on a sunday then go here. Be prepared to drop a few hundred +for your evening.(2 people) I would love to say more about the food and drinks but I cannot. I have had better for less. Head out to the porch. Great view of...
Read moreNot even a question as being The Villages best culinary offering. The Angler's Club is an exclusive members only club located in the Lake Sumter Landing area. Chef Matt is a consistent master with his creations, and does not hesitate to include or exclude variations based upon members individual likes and dislikes. My own preference in beer was even acquired on the menu especially for me! The staff always knows your names and the service is extraordinary. Unmatched! My wife and I comment often about how every staff member backs up the others like a well trained team. The food is beyond compare. Yes, there is a membership cost for this kind of establishment, and each person must weigh that cost alongside of what they desire in a dining experience, but for my wife and I it is very worth the fee for the exclusivity that The Angler's...
