UPDATE: I decided to go back and give this place another try, yesterday, Thurs Sep 7th, around 0930. I'm actually glad that I did go as it didn't disappoint at all. The service was great, Thanks Jena! The food was prepared and served very quickly (2nd photo) and most importantly it was HOT and Delicious :) The atmosphere was pleasant. I walked out of there a satisfied customer, 5 Stars for the update ;)
After living in the area for 2.5yrs and passing by this place many times, I decided to try it out for the first time today 21 Aug appx 0930. It wasn't busy for a Monday, which was nice, I sat at the front counter next the muffin display case, ordered my coffee/orange juice while looking at the menu and checking out the establishment. They have what looks like nice photographs for sale on the wall in front of where I sat, the area around me was clean, it was nice an quiet-not overly loud...which to be honest, before I walked in I thought it would be. I ordered the #3-two eggs (scrambled with shredded cheese), turkey sausage, potatoes. Sara was of service (at the time I didn't know her name, nor did I ask as not to be rude because she was busy. I noticed her name when I asked for my ticket at the end). Fast forward, the food came out after 15 mikes give or take few; at first it all looked good-got a great pic of it, see attachment. Before doing the ole salt pepper routine, I decided to take a quick bite of the eggs/cheese, well to my surprise it wasn't hot at all, the eggs were cool to the taste touch. As I'm one to try different areas of my food(s) to see if other parts are hot/cold, I had the same results. I continued on, tried a small piece of the sausage and that to was cool, to include the potatoes, and to talk about the latter they seemed over cooked, just my judgement. After all this, some people would make a comment, complain, send the food back or just plain lose their appetite, and inform Sara or someone... Well not me, keep reading so you'll understand ;) Yes, the food was cool not cold and maybe close to lukewarm (and that's a big maybe). Anyway, I'm not one to kick back food on the bases of just cool, had it been cold then that would be another bibliography within itself, Lol. Plus after spending 28 years in The U.S. Army, retired 2012, trust me I know what it's like to eat any temperature type food and more so be grateful for what sustenance is put in front of me, no matter the taste, within reason of course. So, if you got this far, you're probably asking yourself, well what did you do Angel?! Well, I decided being the proud Veteran that I am to just wolf down my entire plate without making a huge fuse to Sara over something simple (my feelings). Most may say you're a better man than I am, and I guess that may or may not be true...lets have breakfast sometime and you decide for yourself, open invitation. Anywho, the moral of story is this, life to me is 2Ez, so why go crazy over food when there are thousands of starving people around the world. I've seen so many things ten times worse in my life, in and out of service so why make a big deal over some Grub, just saying. In addition, Sara made all the better and worthwhile with our conversations, her beautiful smile, and Excellent service... So nope, no complaints here, today ;) Thanks Sara! P.S. I'll see you/all next Monday!! I gave the food 3 Stars being it was at least...
Read moreI would have given this place five stars probably if it were not for the overcharge on my bill that was not refunded once it was brought to their attention. I ordered a quiche with a fruit add-on. With the fruit add-on the total was supposed to be $12.99. That was supposed to include the quiche, the fruit, and one side. I ended up getting an additional side of hash browns W/cheese and onions on it. I was charged extra for a fruit cup which was $4.79. I should not have been charged for a fruit cup because that was supposed to have been included in the 12.99 as you can see from the menu. When I brought this to the cashiers attention She gave me a credit of $0.50. and tried to convince me that everything was as it should be despite me showing her the math calculations on my phone. She then went on to tell me that grits were not part of one of the sides that you can get with the quiche which you can tell from the menu is not correct. So she tried to use that as a rationalization for me being charged for the fruit cup, which I'm not sure how even that made sense. And I don't know where the 50 cent credit that she gave me came from. So I spent $30+ for a breakfast that I had only planned to spend around $20 or so give or take. I am on a budget and every little bit counts and adds up. For that price I could have just stayed at the hotel and paid for their breakfast. I went to this restaurant because it was more affordable or so I thought. The food was good however. I would return here if I'm ever in the area again but I would just say to please check your bill before you leave to make sure that you are not being overcharged But even with doing that it may not be refunded fully when brought to their attention.. A part of me wish's I had not left a tip now because that would have recouped some of what I was overcharged, but of course it was not the waitress's fault. I don't typically leave a lot of reviews on places but I'm on a budget, and on vacation & I chose that place for a reason, so it bothered me that I paid more for something than I...
