Place was amazing. A couple of things that seemed to have changed. If you have what is the equivalent to a mini bagel, but charging a full bagel price. Be nice to the customer, and give them the full size bagel, especially when you have a lot of them. And also, what happened to the black and white cookies? Half the size, and pre packaged now. Looks like a deal with Carnagie Deli. Which if you have lived in NYC, it’s really just a name. Overrated actually. So, that basically taste like a hostess cupcake. But. The black and whites were amazing before. So fresh, and amazing!!! My family and I loved this place. I’m going to attempt it again, but might want to stay in the game as other bagel shops are popping up. And they are making them the same way. But, it’s the closest thing to bagels from home, so I’ll give them credit there. Go back to the old way thou, it was amazing!!!!
update Went back, and gave it another shot! I used to love this place. Anyone from the tri state area can back me up on this. Taylor ham should never be microwaved in Super oven and be thick disgusting slices that look barely cooked. If you stick to bagels with butter or cream cheese you’ll probably be fine. But, I won’t be back. Manager was the one making the Taylor ham. SMH I was told things might be slightly different because of the carnagie deli thing. But, then I was told that she likes to just cut the Taylor ham thick. I dunno which it is, but looked gross. The staff was all nice, but the manager had no clue. And because I was starving I just switched to two bagels with butter. I say, go back to the way things used to be done. Please cook the Taylor ham as you get the order, don’t reheat it. And bring back the black and white cookies that are not prepackaged. Again, probably good for picking up a dozen bagels in the morning....
Read moreThis use to be one of my favorite breakfast places in Lake Mary, for years!!! # 1 The line this morning around 9:30 AM was out the door! (Alright, good for Brooklyn bagel… the word is out!!!) However, as my Dad and I got closer to the counter, we realized that there was only one employee taking orders (Okay maybe they had somebody call out 🤷♀️) Well, that person was also delivering the very few orders that were ready to be able to be delivered to people. #2 I found the environment quite depressing because the majority of the lights were off and no music playing over the speakers ( I love the music they play and I am normally singing along) … very uninviting, especially since I have been going there for over seven years, and the lights are usually all bright and on. (Now that I think about it, a month ago I had stopped by there with a breakfast to-go order and the lights were off even then!!!) #3 We waited 35 minutes for a very simple order ☹️ #4 Dad and I realized that there were multiple people before us in line that were still waiting on their food, when we got our order!!! # 5 We were one of the lucky ones that got our food within 35 minutes (keep in mind this is a bagel place 🤷♀️) and they were out of plastic baskets to serve dining-in guests (no problem) ; but , it turns out the food was terrible!!! My Dad and I both had underbaked, limp, bagels and ice cold, solid cream cheese. My order was the green point sandwich and besides the unavailability of the bagel that I wanted and the one I got being underbaked… I had asked for baby spinach specifically because the seasoned frozen spinach makes the sandwich watery!!!! Guess what I got… seasoned...
Read moreOrdered a turkey bacon club melt (1 slice bacon TOTAL!!) on a toasted everything bagel. Had to get up to get a fork & knife & to get mayo packets. They COULD have TOLD us that plastic ware & condiments were self-serve & POINT toward where they are!! I ordered a toasted asiago bagel with butter AND cream cheese. My receipt reflects that's what I ordered & paid for. I got a bagel barely toasted, NO butter on the side NOR on my bagel, but the cream cheese was okay. Very disappointed!! How hard is it to toast & butter a bagel AT A SPECIALTY BAGEL SHOP!! I ordered 6 asiago bagels to-go, and a container of cream cheese ($9.49+$5.50+tax) BUT I think they're day old!! Regular price!! Non-speaking, quiet employees that can't communicate with an audible voice!! Frustrating that she said push the red button (to not leave a tip - whispered) AND I WANTED TO TIP but had to find cash to give a tip because she didn't communicate...just told me "push the red button" assuming no tip (they DON'T deserve a tip). I always always tip well. I'm taking the 2nd half of my bagel home, to scrape off, re-toast (I like some brown on my bagel for crisp!) add butter & put the cream cheese back before I can ENJOY it. I paid TOO much - just under $40 PLUS TIP!!! - for a BAD EXPERIENCE. This is my 2nd & LAST visit here. I MISS LAKE MARY BAGEL KING!! This place has no customer service nor satisfaction. Our food was cold AND took at least 10 minutes - maybe 15 minutes to get our 2-person order. Not crowded. Generally I'm NOT a complainer. I'm unhappy. Sincerely, 62 year old Valerie...
