Viet-Nomz brings much-needed temerity in the food landscape of Lake Mary, offering layered and personalized flavor combinations, fresh enhancements, and a biome of authentic culinary ideas in a quick-service package, and all for an affordable price. Having only had the vegetarian/vegan/plant-based options on the menu, the limited palette allowed focus on items like the Tofu Bao Buns (gua bao,) crudo Julienne carrots and lettuce on lotus leaf canapé baked porously fluffy; the different textures lending a soft crunch or a crisp chew when topped with the fried-seared tofu cubes. The Summer Rolls allow for inclusion of tofu, and while the spring rolls do not, the cabbage farci serves heartiness in the vermicelli noodles wrapped with rice-paper or wheat flour. Deconstructed, the tofu served in both the bao (fried) and the pho (soft,) as well as a side à la carte, are nuanced and flavorful thanks to their accompaniments — like the latter's deep and alkaline vegetable broth. Read moreHumorous name. I was really looking forward to trying this place after reading the reviews. The staff was very friendly. Ordered the entree bowl with rice noodles and pork and the vegetarian bowl. The order came out looking really good. Unfortunately, it just looked good. The spring roll that came with the entree bowl was so salty to the point of being inedible. I had never had a spring roll like that before. The pork was lean, which could be a good thing or a bad thing. In this case, it was bad, as it was very dry. The pork was also marinated with too much salt. Sodium overload in this bowl. I had some of my wife’s vegetarian bowl, which had crispy tofu. I thought the crispy tofu was very good and one of the best I’ve had, as it was very crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. My wife said the tofu was too salty as well and wished they were just battered and fried without the seasoning. Combined with the sauce, it was way too much. I didn’t find the tofu salty, but maybe that was because I lost my salt taste buds after eating the pork entree bowl. I really wanted to like this place as we love Vietnamese cuisine, it’s near our new home, and the staff was very friendly. I will give it one more shot and try their pho, but if that fails, I will...
Read moreA nice surprise that my wife and I found in Lake Mary. We stopped into Viet-Nomz because the unique name grabbed our attention. I am glad we did. The food and service are great. We were greeted when we entered and was given the time to study the menu with no rush or pressure. I ordered the Summer rolls and Crispy Tofu bites. My wife ordered the Pork Spring rolls and Fish Bites. The summer rolls were flavorful but did need the associated sauce to truly bring out the flavors. The peanut sauce served with them was flavorful but was too thick to dip in and had an overbearing flavor. It tasked almost like straight peanut butter. As everything else was exceptional I will not let this lower my score of 5. The Crispy tofu bites were exceptional. They were prepared beautifully with a mild crunch and had a homemade sauce that truly accentuated the flavors. My wife's Spring Rolls were a little over-fried as you can see in the picture but still tasted good according to her. To me, they seemed like a large chunk of meat fried and wrapped but she loved it. Her fish bites were truly the star of the meal for both of us. The fish was cooked to perfection. Bold flavor and a nice presentation. I do feel for the price that 2 or 3 more bites should...
