My Tacos tasted like vomit! Why?
My Wife treated my kids and I to a meal at a local Tiagos Tacos restaurant. The local presentation it’s nice, the truck theme to a restaurant it’s catchy. I am not a big fan when it comes to eat Tacos, but we had rough day, it was late in the evening to start cooking so we decided to invest in a tacos night out. Tacos are not meant to be difficult, I mean, there are only a handful of things to choose from the menu.
I picked Biria Tacos , which the attendant suggested to add some cheese. My wife had some Tacos al Pastor and the Kids settled for the Burritos. After dipping my taco into the sauce, my first impression was food tasted like vomit, it even reeked of vomit. I think the combination of cheese and the Birria tacos does not add up. I was afraid of saying anything because I didn't want to ruined my family’s dinner. My wife had spent over $130, I assumed it was an acquired taste, but I had Birria tacos and never tasted this awful before and picked through it. I ate as much as I could. I made it about half way through when my wife asked me if she could try my food. She took a bite then spit it out. She even said it tasted like vomit! She asked me to try her tacos al Pastor, they had a faint smell of urine, she told me they smelled like somebody had pee on them. I guess it was the combination of pineapple and cheese that gave it that distinct smell, but the taste was awful too. The children who chose the burritos were not too happy about the taste. I tried the burritos just to inquire the taste, and I can say for sure that Taco Bell makes better burritos at this place, I can even say that frozen burritos taste better that the crap we were eating.
I'm wondering if there is anything in the dish that would give it a sour taste or if there was actually something wrong with our dishes. I must say that this will be the only time that our family will ever eat at this place, I don’t know where people come up with a four or five star rating when this place just...
Read moreCalled them to place an order by phone called wrong store they informed me it was key Biscayne and which location I needed so they can provide me with the number. They gave me the number to another location not the one by tamiami airport which is what I requested. Placed order over phone and gave my CC. when I show up to the one by tamiami airport which I requested they didn’t have my order. Staff called manager to see about canceling order and redoing it at Tamiami but manager did not care at all to make things right as a frequent customer and said I had to go 30 minutes out to US1 and colonial which would mean my tacos would be soggy by the time I got them to my family. They chose to lose a customer instead of honoring a mistake and prioritizing customer service. I was a frequent customer going weekly. I am highly disappointed they did not refund my money. I will never go back and will go to the food truck on 137 as they do prioritize customer service and that’s what truly...
Read moreI'm not sure why it took us so long to try Tiagos, and I wish we had gone a while ago! Everything is delicious and fresh. The portion sizes are more than generous. The rice bowls are packed with rice, choice of protein, veggies, pineapple and yummy sauces. The pineapple is a refreshing and sweet touch that brings the flavors together perfectly. The elote bowls are amazing! Burritos are huge and will not disappoint! I will say that, depending on the staff that day, portion size and accuracy of customizations vary. Some visits are just a tad disappointing for this reason, as there is just a tiny lack of consistency. I don't like that you have to stand there filling your own little sauce containers. Sometimes it's quite busy and people are waiting to squeeze into the small fridge of sauces. It would be so much easier to just ask for the sauce you want. Overall, it is one of our favorite places and the food is always fresh and tasty. Staff is friendly and orders are always...
