Tijuana Flats — Restaurant in Florida

I need to say first that I am a big fan of Tijuana Flats and this rating is specific to the location in Hunters Creek. Having said that, it pains me to feel this way about my neighborhood Tijuana Flats. This place is off my list of possibilities for dining in the area. We have given this location many chances, have spoken with management( who is admittedly always apologetic, seems like a nice guy and always offers gratuitous food for the trouble though I decline and ask simply that the problems be corrected since there is no benefit to us in getting more bad food for free) and simply turned a blind eye/ the other cheek too many times due to not wanting the hassle. While this location has never been the best, in the past 2 years I have had so many issues there ranging from getting the wrong food, missing food( items that are part of your order or added at an extra cost like cheese) lackluster service, unappetizing food served( soggy lettuce, tomatoes, onions, etc., just plain not added food items when they should have been, toppings thrown on in big, lazy hunks that make no sense and have to be prepped by us before consuming), inedible food(dangerously over salted meat, spoiled guacamole, jalapeños placed inside burritos when none were requested for the 10 year old whose dinner was inedible). Most of the time we order through the app for pickup or order takeout in person but rarely dine in. The dine in experiences have mostly ok. Because of my love of Tijuana Flats I have been locked in a cycle of picking up takeout, getting home and finding these issues, eating what can be salvaged, tossing the rest and staying away for months at a time, eating at other Tijuana Flats locations near work and loving it, craving it for dinner from time to time, then forgetting the last experience and going back again to find the same mishaps in varying degrees, usually pushing aside unappetizing veggies or guacamole or getting cheese from my fridge since my chimichanga didn’t come wet though I paid extra for it all the way to getting a completely different entree or meat option than ordered. My son’s burrito being loaded with big rings of jalapeños was the last straw for me. I truly don’t know how this location has so many good reviews. Maybe I am asking for too much or shouldn’t expect the same standard here as I have come to appreciate at other locations. In my experience, this many issues with this level of frequency has to be indicative of managerial standards and or/ accountability. As I stated earlier, the manager seems like a really nice guy from the couple of conversations I have had with him so either he is too easygoing where holding his staff accountable for the way food should be prepped and served or their standards meet his. I've been ordering every tuesday from this store for a little over a year now. it has always been fantastic until about 2 months ago. every order since then there has been an issue. missing drinks/food, allergens added to food that were requested to be removed or omitted from the order, and more than a few shocking conversations heard from the kitchen staff. the first few times I sucked it up and tossed the contaminated food and took the hit without complaining, as I didn't want to cause any issue with the resturaunt. I finally complained when I was pushed to review as the cashier circled the feedback survey on the receipt and wrote multiple names down. I left a polite, but honest review that I was missing food and had been missing things or received incorrect things for a while now. the store PR sent me an email stating they were sorry and offered a single appetizer. I felt bad and did not redeem it as it seemed very genuine. I made another order today and once again, my order is incorrect. if my name was not plastered on printouts of every box in the bag, I would have thought that I had accidentally received someone else's order entirely. But no, it is my name and exactly what I ordered on the printouts, but the boxes contain something very different. I can't keep throwing my money down the drain like this every week, I won't be eating here any more as long as this keeps up, and I won't be recommending this resturaunt to anyone else. its really dissapointing as until recently i have always had fantastic food and service here, but it seems that something has changed for the worse. there's plenty of tacos shops in the area and I'll have to start looking around elsewhere for...

We recently placed a catering order from this restaurant, and not only was the food absolutely amazing and incredibly fresh, but the service we received went far beyond our expectations.

There was a small mix-up with one item missing from our order, and that’s when Mr. CJ, the manager, truly showed what exceptional customer service looks like. He was extremely professional, kind, and genuinely committed to making things right. Without hesitation, CJ made it his personal mission to deliver the missing item to us himself. That level of care and dedication is something you don’t see often, and it made a lasting impression on us.
