In Orlando for a business trip, I found out my associate had a very limited experience with various foods that I take for granted as being typical fare for most people these days. Finding out he had never experienced Thai food before, I located Nit Noi Thai in the reviews in Google Maps. It had a high rating, and reading several of the reviews I found it easy to select as a place to go eat. Maps made it easy to get to and we entered the establishment to a very bright and cheery reception from the young woman that was holding down the fort in the dining area of this small establishment. I left it to my colleague to look at the menu and make a selection for his own entree. However, I selected two appetizers, fried wontons and crab rangoon, for our meal. When we placed our order my friend adamantly stated that he didn't want it very spicy, no spicy, mild please, which elicited a chuckle from our waitress. I on the other hand opted for a medium heat to my dish. Our appetizers arrived and they were very good though they didn't need it the dipping sauces only accentuated the existing flavors. Our main dishes arrived and we're very hardy portions each with the appropriate level of heat from the pepper spices that were added or were not as the case may be. After the meal was done, my colleague stated that Thai food was now on his look for list and he would have to try other dishes, but we weren't finished. In typical fashion, our hostess asked us if we did not have room for dessert? Of course. Maybe. What was her suggestion? She offered up sticky rice and I whole hardly agreed. Soon we had a bowl of sticky rice with a half a mango drizzled with some condensed coconut milk. An excellent finish to the meal. Nit Noi Thai accomplished two goals for the evening, opening up the taste buds of my coworker and providing a very tasty meal to talk about in the future.

First, I would like to compliment the food - the fried tofu starter and Pad See-Ew noodles with tofu were absolutely fantastic! My friend also ordered Pad See-Ew with chicken and devoured the whole thing. I couldn't eat the whole thing but later finished it on my way home because I couldn't resist the deliciousness. There were only two people inside when we came in, which was a relief because I don't like busy places. I enjoy peace and quiet. The atmosphere was pleasant and the Asian music was calming and nice. I loved the lamps above each table. The service... Well, the lady was super friendly and sweet. However, either she didn't have any serving experience or she's just not good at the service department but (a) she didn't offer any water when she came to the table - she just put down the menus and silverware and left, (b) after a long while she came back to get our orders and STILL didn't ask if we wanted water or drinks, so I had to tell her myself, (c) I overheard other customers asking her too to get water after they ordered their food (apparently, she didn't offer them either), (d) she forgot to bring Sriracha after we asked, so we had to ask again, (e) she came back once to see how things were and while she leaving, my friend called her back to ask for water refill - the lady didn't even notice an empty cup in front of her, (f) I asked for a box and it took so long to get it while she was chatting with a coworker that I almost finished my plate. So yeah, these many things dampened our experience but I hope that the staff will be trained better as they keep up the restaurant.

UPDATED REVIEW: 3/5 We went here after their “renovation” and the only thing renovated was the portion size. It’s gone from good portion to 1-2 bite portion. The lunch special comes with an eggroll and soup/salad but the portion of the entree was just as small as that! They’re charging the same price for a smaller portion. Take my eggroll and soup/salad and give me my portion back, please. I won’t be coming back until then. It’s good but not that good if the portion size can be eaten in 1-2 bites. Do another renovation back to the original portion size. ORIGINAL REVIEW: 5/5 I had this place bookmarked to try and I’m so glad I did! I’m very skeptical of Thai restaurants because it’s like a lottery — some good and some bad. We went for lunch and it got busy quick! Tom Yum: 5/5, omg the flavors were so balanced! Spicy was definitely spicy but it was addicting. Spring Roll: 2/5, it was okay. Pad Thai: 4/5, flavors were good! Thai Fried Rice: 5/5, so good! The beef was like Chinese beef so it didn’t mesh well with the carbs but it wasn’t too bad — maybe if it was just stir fry. They messed up on our order but it came out fast again so no issues. Service wasn’t too fast since it was busy but we still had a good experience. I am definitely returning!

The food has been great every time we order so long as we stick with chicken as the protein, the beef is a typical rubbery texture and the seafood was underwhelming for price. But I’m writing this review ready to give up on this place because I have such a hard time getting through to order. We live just 5 mins away and order takeout (not Doorsash) because we’re so close. Problem is, half the time the phone is off the hook or just rings and rings to voicemail. I’m convinced it’s intentional as it’s usually in the last hour open and the busy signal never lets up after multiple attempts over several minutes. Not exaggerating at all but it’s a minimum of 50% chance I won’t get through.. I’ve also had them close an hour or more early when I went in person , and once my husband called at 8pm to clarify a menu item and said we would call right back to place an order, and not much of a surprise it was suddenly a busy signal for the next 50 minutes until they closed at 9. We’ve been trying to be regular customers and spend a lot of money here, but it’s a low blow to feel like our business is really not appreciated very much when this happens so often. It’s not just a fluke, I tried to call a few mins ago at 7:50 with 3 subsequent calls and it’s now 8:25 and still unable to get through. For a small business it’s just not smart practice, and pay attention to your employees or try to place an order as a test, you will see what I’m talking about. I don’t see a packed dining room EVER, so ???. Update: 8/26/24 First attempt to try again since leaving this review, called at 8:05 and rang and rang, tried two more times 10 mins apart and same. Also, I see the owner was active just 2 days ago giving feedback on others reviews. Clearly there’s no comment AND no resolution from even the owners. I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt that they were unaware but clearly they’re unapologetic and even complacent. When your doors close for good I hope you remember Karma...
