I forgot to post this a while ago but it still irks me so badly that I had to leave a review. Firstly I’d like to thank the gentleman that worked the cash register that day. I saw a young lady and her friend were eating. The guy at the register did a phenomenal job at explaining the food to them. The girl then seemed to go back and inform him that she didn’t like the protein that she got. She asked if it was possible to switch it out and if not it was no issue. The person at the register got someone who seems to have been the manager. The manager then goes on to start giving the girl a lecture on how “changing out the food is a waste of food.” You could see that the girl started to get nervous and shut down, her friend then went to the register and asked what the issue was. He then began to lecture her friend about switching out the food she didn’t like is “a waste of food.” The gentleman waited for the manager to finish and told him, if it’s that much of an issue, they don’t mind paying. The manager tried to give the friend and the girl a lecture again on how that is a waste of food. The gentleman had once again, Nicely informed, “I just explained that I would pay for it again, I’m really not here to argue with you.”
Now as someone who has friends that are restaurant owners, this is not the way they treat any of their guests and to have seen that really bothered me. I hope both of those people are ok. Regardless I feel as though if a guest who’s giving you money and could possibly give you exposure, the last thing you should do is treat them as they are children. People go to restaurants, people try things and sometimes they are either loved, or they just don’t find it appetizing. Best thing that could have been done is just switch out the food, not treat someone like a parent treats their kids at home. It’s a business, not a day care. Especially if you made someone so uncomfortable that they were willing to pay the difference. Just doesn’t make sense.
All in all my personal food experience was great, me and my wife loved everything that we got. But I do feel bad for those young guests that were there. I was truly appalled.
This was at the hunters creek location. Try not to dislike anything so you won’t be Lectured about...
Read moreI 9live in Houston in an area that is famous for its nightlife and late-night restaurants, and I’ve already been to almost every spot around my neighborhood. When I visited Tacos My Guey, I immediately felt the difference. The prices here are cheaper compared to most restaurants, which makes it very affordable, and the fact that they stay open late makes it a perfect choice for anyone looking for food after hours. The food itself was decent, enjoyable but not extraordinary, yet what made my entire experience special was the staff.
From the moment I walked in, everyone was friendly and welcoming, but Madeline at the cashier and Alejandra who brought the food to my table went above and beyond. They were incredibly sweet, energetic, and attentive, constantly smiling and making sure customers were taken care of. Even though the restaurant was busy with about twenty people dining at the time, my food came out in just a few minutes. Their effort and attitude made me feel like I was being treated like royalty.
Employees like Madeline and Alejandra are rare to find, and they are the kind of people who turn a simple meal into an unforgettable experience. If the owner ever reads this, I sincerely hope they consider giving them a raise or some type of recognition because they truly deserve it. For anyone who is looking for a late-night spot to eat, I would definitely recommend trying this place. The combination of affordable prices, late hours, and outstanding service makes it more than...
Read moreWe have been to a LOT of taco places in Orlando, and this is hands down the best we have been to so far. I’ve never had a torta before, mostly because I never thought they’d be good. But I saw some people eating it when we came in and decided to try it. And oh my goodness, was that thing AMAZING! That bread was out of this world soft and delicious and totally made it. I got a steak one and the steak was very seasoned and amazing. We also got a side of beans and rice for our picky daughter and she loved them. I got the elote bowl and it was fantastic, lots of the cheese and lime flavor. Hubby got the tuna salad and he really enjoyed it and said it had a lot of flavor, specifically pico flavor and tangy in a very positive way that gave it a great Mexican twist. Then I got the fish, chicken, steak and pork tacos. The pork was the best, then fish (the sauce was great), then steak and chicken was our least favorite. But even being our “least favorite”, it was still one of the best chicken tacos we have ever had! This place is a hidden gem, and I’m so glad we found it. The staff was also fantastic and lively and kind. This is our new place, and I highly recommend you...
