If I could put 0 stars I would. They present very well and seem to be professional during tastings, but donāt be fooled. The bakeryās team has a problem with internal communication.
When I went to the tasting the cake flavors I tasted were superb, the staff was sweet and seemed knowledgeable. I left without a doubt that this bakery would do no wrong. Placed the order for a vanilla rum cake with caramel filling, left detailed instructions with the manager on the phone and through text on the decor, and even shared a picture of what I wanted the decor to be, and was assured that it wouldnāt be a problem to replicate.
The day of my event, which was a baby shower, the cake did not look like the picture and the toppers were not placed as per my instructions, the word ābabyā was even misspelled. It was clear that the cake did not go through a quality check as any person checking the work of the decorator would have at the very least noticed the misspelling.
I spoke to the owner about it and she doesnāt seem to care that the decor was off and not what I ordered because to her the cake was still beautiful. Unfortunately that just subjective and at the end of the day their team did not deliver on what was order/purchased.
I would be more forgiving about the decor but the other issue was that they ended up making me a regular, extremely dry, vanilla cake. Not a rum vanilla cake that is moist and delicious like the one I tasted. So this means that whoever made the cake didnāt even read the order form. At the end of the day everything I paid for to make this experience special and what was assured to me that could be delivered was wrong, but to the owner it was still beautiful so I shouldnāt have a problem. Must have been her event.
My mom called while I was working to express our disappointment and they offered her a credit. However, I donāt have any major events coming up and honestly donāt trust their service anymore as they have proven to be deceiving. I called the next day to speak to someone about options on a resolution and unfortunately the manager Francesca was not in. The lady I talked to said she would tell her to call me. Francesca didnāt call, so I followed up 2 more times, once a week speaking to 2 different people and explaining the situation and asking them to please have Francesca call me back. I allowed time to pass in between calls because I understand that businesses can get busy, and I was busy myself. Trusting that once her and I connect we could come to a resolution. Each time the person I talked to told me only the manager Francesca could help me.
Finally I get a call back today, and I am told that a refund option was offered to my mom if we could bring the cake but since itās been 3 weeks that I likely donāt have the cake so that option is not available anymore. That was never offered, only a credit. And they are only mentioning it now because they know that by this point I wouldnāt be able to bring the cake. Had Francesca called me back the first week I would have brought the cake because we actually had so much of it left over that went to the trash.
Be ware of this bakery, they present very well but at the end of the day they donāt deliver what you order and pay for and lack accountability. Francesca said that none of the staff I talked to told her that I was trying to reach her, yet the owner Tina admitted that she knew someone had called about this orders. So which one is it? Did they know and not call me back because it wasnāt a priority or did Francesca just not call back because no one told her as so she claims? Itās inconsistent.
They are very rude as well and just left a very sour experience. I honestly believed we could come to a resolution but seems like we canāt.
Here is a picture of the blue gradient cake that I ordered which just needed the toppers added. Instead the bakery delivered a cake that has blue stripes. It was thick and tasteless.The attendees at my party even want any and those that did didnāt finish their slice. I contacted the company to see if I could get partial refund because $126 is a lot to pay for a cake that no one likes. I was told that a partial refund would not be issued but that if Iām ever in Miami again I can get a free cake. Save yourself some money and order elsewhere. This is the worst bakery I have come across with. I got a price for a cake over the phone, the next day I went to the store and I was given another price. I was disappointed for the miscommunication, but I still paid for half of the cake so they can make it. The next day, I received a call from the owner Tina, saying that the price I was given at the store was not the price and that I had to pay more. At that point I was very annoyed. How is it possible that price changed for a third time? Instead of her being calm and apologetic, she was the most rude and nasty person. She had such a bad attitude and ended hanging up on me. At that point I called her back and asked her for a refund which she did, but charged me 4.00 for a disgusting extremely sweet piece of cake i got the day I went to put the order in. I do not care about the money but that just shows she is very ignorant when it comes to customer service.
