Last night, we dined at Vencenzo's restaurant for our 28th anniversary. The atmosphere: vacuum cleaner loudly ran the first 30 minutes were were there. The waitress could hardly hear us, but refused to ask the person to stop. Her position was they couldn't ask the hotel part to do anything and they are two different places. My husband had to get up and ask the guy to stop. He did, but why should we have to ask when it was brought to the attention of the waitress? She argued with us the fact who owns the hotel and who owns the restaurant. Vince Bruner owns both. She still argued. There were three tables, maybe four Gulf side views. We were the only customers there due to my low immune system. We told the hostess why we were there. 28th anniversary dinner, so she seated the next table right behind us instead of seating them down from us. They were so close I could hear them breathing, but also their loud, rude, obnoxious banter the rest of our dining experience. When we asked the waitress why were they seated next to us again, she argued with us about the seating. We found out the customers are friends of Vince's, so there's that. My picatta was great. The spinach dip is phenomenal. The grilled pompano was full of bones!! FULL OF BONES. Beware of that!! The waitress argued it had bones because it wasn't a filet. What? She kept repeating that so we asked her to leave the table. She created a lot of tension. She began our visit by arguing with us about the "special" menu and the pompano was a mistake. Hummmm. No, its posted on line as well as on the restaurant board behind her. She didn't know what the fish of the day was. The red beans were still hard and polenta was like eating sand. The view, if seated by a window is great. Gulf view. We, as locals will...
Read moreWe came thinking we were coming to a five star dinner as the local radio station claimed … People were walking threw with swim attire on to go to the pool. We waited 10 minutes for water with only two tables occupied in the whole restaurant. Then we ordered our food again a wait. But this really confused us when the kitchen help came out with the table in front of uses food they brought it to us and when we said it wasn’t ours the young guy just threw his arms up and walked away leaving someone else’s food on our table… We also asked for bread and said they don’t offer bread… to the answer from you on another comment about this NO I am not a former employee… How do you not have some kind of bread .The food was ok and I love Italian… my friend got the half chicken that looked like a leg and thigh and she said it had no taste except on the skin which she doesn’t eat. I am sorry I was so excited to try this and was very disappointed. I had the chicken Parm. and my other friend had the chicken piccata. And we were not even asked if we wanted to go containers which we didn’t but they could have asked. Also, please stop letting them clean the table before we are ready to leave. They also did this to the table before us who hadn’t even had there food yet. Sorry also not a 2 star prices for what we received. They didn’t offer to split the check. They also hold the credit card way to long. So sorry was not what I was expecting. We will go...
Read moreI have never experienced a hotel with such exceptional food in my entire life. Every dish at this restaurant was exquisite, starting with the perfectly cooked grilled octopus. It had a great char and a flaky texture that was simply delightful. The pork osso bucco was seasoned to perfection and incredibly tender. The Crab Al Nero was a divine combination of crab and pasta that left us craving for more. To complement our meal, we enjoyed a very tasty Meomi Pinot Noir, which paired well with any protein. For dessert, we indulged in the flourless chocolate tarts with berries, which were the perfect ending to the best meal I've had in a long time. It's hard to believe that such a fantastic dining experience could be found at a Courtyard Marriott.
The service provided by Kamala was excellent. She gave us great recommendations, had a beautiful personality, and displayed the utmost professionalism. Chef Keith also took the time to speak with us. He is a young chef who is destined to make a huge mark on the culinary world. He has a great personality and truly cooks from the soul. On my next visit to Fort Walton Beach/Okaloosa Island, this restaurant will definitely be my go-to for fine dining. By the way, this was our second night eating at Vincenzo's Italian Bistro, and the first night was equally as good, although I didn't take...
